There is a kind of obscure '70s folk band that I really enjoy, Comus. A rather strange act, kind of psychedelic. Some have likened their lyrics to the Metal genre. They sometimes do weird growling noises and stuff like that. Here's a link to one of their songs.

The BBC had used the following song before during British General Election coverage until recently. At any rate, here's a good one from former Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman.

Lately I've been waking up with David Bowie's 1984 in my head.

Also, I've been giving my BEF album "Music of Quality and Distinction" a second chance, and have rediscovered his song The Secret Life of Arabia from their cover.
