Well, as of this post (1:59 am PST), most of the US has switched to Daylight Saving (no "s" as in Savings) Time; and in 1 minute, the Pacific Time Zone will not be 2:00 PST, it will be 3:00 PDT.

So if any of you forgot to change your clocks, now is the time :D

For the next 34 weeks, we will observe Daylight Saving Time.

And then on Sunday, November 06, 2011, at 2:00 am, we return for 18 weeks back to Standard Time.

If you see that the times on the forum are still in Standard Time, go into your profiles, go into your board preferences, and click on Yes when you get to the Summer/DST preference.

Yeah, me too (had to change my profile to Summer/DST preference as well).

Me, who started this thread, thanks you Big-Will for this tip 8)

We all (SPS board members) thank you :)

Happy Daylight Saving Time, everyone! Just 34 weeks to go, then back to Standard Time :P

I hate Standard Time, too. :/ I just want time to stay the way it is, whichever time they want to decide on.

Eh, time is relative anyway. What matters is were all here on the planet at the very same moment. Those who say "Haha! You're in the past because you're a certain number of hours behind me!" are just being trolls. :| (Luckily, I haven't found any yet.)

Big-Will: What if I like it the other way? The way it looks right now, it looks like it's on CDT. (And here's a suggestion to the site administrators for future consideration: Give us the option to have the display times time zone specific as determined by the individual user.)

Um, can't we already do that?

Yeah, really. If you want to pretend like you're in Sri Lanka, go set your time for that, but the rest of us will see your post times at the time zones WE have. So, if you have your time zone set to Sri Lanka time and I have mine set for Korean time, your posts will appear in Korean time to me. :P

I didn't know we could do that. Also, before the switch, I was seeing post times in Eastern Standard Time, not Central Standard Time.

Besides, I'm still relatively new to these forums.

The board has many time zones to choose from; I choose Pacific Time, UTC - 8:00, with Summer Time in effect. But you (any board member) can choose any time they like, such as:

[UTC + 6:30] Cocos Islands Time, Myanmar Time

Now if you chose that, your times to you will appear as UTC + 6:30; to the rest of us, your posting times will appear normal to us in our own time zone. In addition to 24 time zones around the world, there are other time zones that fall on the 1/2 hour, such as Cocos Islands. What you chose is up to you :)

That's the thing. I did that when I first joined, but the times still showed up as Eastern Standard Time. It only corrected itself during the changeover.

Maybe it was a glitch. Who knows?

Alright, I remembered to change 'em this time! I even did the clock on the microwave.

I few years ago, I totally spaced the start of Daylight Saving and went through my entire Sunday oblivious. I came into work on Monday an hour later than usual and was well into my work before I looked at the clock on my work computer.

As I watched an hour instantly disappear in front of me, all I could do was lash out at the general, subjective nature of time and our species methods of recording it, much to the amusement of my coworkers.

It's that time of year, again, to talk about the return of Daylight Saving Time. In the U.S., it begins at 2:00 am on Sunday, March 11, 2012. So on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 is the start of South Park Season 16A at 10:00 EDT :)

Even with the time change, I'll STILL get the show three hours earlier, since DirecTV picks up the east coast broadcasts.

Now's the time (pun intended) :)

It is now late Saturday afternoon on March 10th, 2012. Tonight there will be:

1:59:57 am
1:59:58 am
1:59:59 am
3:00:00 am
3:00:01 am

No 2:00:00 am! Daylight Saving Time begins in hours! For most of the US who observe the time change, do it! We lose an hour sleep tonight.

Change only those clocks/watches that do not do it themselves automatically ;)

That's right :o

I forgot! Go to your profile, everyone involved with setting your clocks forward one hour, and change the setting to: Summer Time Is In Effect :)
