No,I don't think this is a good idea.
Third Grade->Forth Grade is ok,but it makes me feel they are getting old if they move onto Fifth Grade.

I say it depends. Would that mean the boys' appearances will change to the fifth graders look? Those kids were so big and not as cute. Also, would the plot be interesting for such an episode? Could they set it apart from Fourth Grade in a very unique, awesome way?

Hell no! The boys are still immature (excluding Kenny) and the fifth graders are shown to be huge perverts.

In my opinion they should Trey and Matt should do this in 3-4 years! And eventually when Trey and Matt's heart gives out and they quit south park I think that the boys should go to Junior High, and the show come to an end. That's just my opinion

I say no because I have my own vision of the boys in fifth grade, and all the other grades as I'm sure most fans do. I see the boys having a kind and fun teacher for 5th grade, something they haven't had in years. I think they deserve a normal teacher sometime. But there is a chance 5th grade will happen since there are still several more seasons left. Who knows.

i think they should at least to 5th grade for the final season or something, its not a huge change.. it could be a really exciting to see if anything new would come from it good or worse. if the boys stay in 4th i still wouldnt have any complaints!

Fifth grade is the rough equivalent of year 6 in the British education system as it is for kids aged between 10-11. It think it could work at that age as there is still an innocence to it that would mean the spark of South Park wouldn't be too eroded. I definitely agree that a move into Junior High/Middle School (6th or 7th grades or above, depending on your perspective and education board) would not be suitable for the show as the nature of the older kids would mean that the show would lose some it's impact. Perhaps as was mentioned above the show could end with their last day of classes in elementary school (so perhaps up to 5th grade) or their last summer before beginning middle school. Just my opinion really.

In the States 5th Grade is when a child turns 10 before a cutoff date in December, so you're 9 or 10 going in, 10 or 11 going out.

Or at least that's how it used to be. In the past four years, the cutoff date was moved up by increments to September 1:

2011 - December 2
2012 - November 1
2013 - October 1
2014 and later - September 1

This is for California. Other states have different cutoff dates.

Absolutely brilliant poll! I am with a few of the others sharing their concern for what might happen to their characters.

I Think it would be Very Interesting To see them move into the new grade Perhaps in a Special Episode ?
