Pressure of Success?

Postby lawlessone » Wed Apr 10, 2013 3:27 pm

Hey,

I've just re-watched Team America: World Police, for like the sixth time, and I still saw something new to laugh about. This time it was the way they didn't even bother to include the little pyramid at the end, and also the way Luxor's Valley of the Kings was visible from a Cairo market. The film has aged really well, like a fine Scotch in an old oak cask.

It's now certain that Trey and Matt are up there with the masters, like Elim Klimov, Andrei Tarkovsky, Stanley Kubrick, Penny Woolcock and Alejandro Jodorowsky.

But do the pressures of the benchmarks they've set get to them?

It sounds like an ass-kissing question, but it's not. I'm genuinely interested in the answer!

All the best South Park fans...

Team America internalised

That film's voices have penetrated so deeply inside my head that, while reading James Rollins' The Devil Colony, which is kind of like Team America meets The Book of Mormon, every single page has been rendered in the voice of someone from Team America. It started off as just Spottiswoode, which was a bit hardcore, but after a while all the others joined in. Amazeballs!
