Homeless People

Postby Hannafechik98 » Thu Nov 23, 2017 4:32 am

As much as we all know it’s satire, and it’s meant to just be a joke, do any of you start to question where South Park is heading? I mean, if depicting homeless people as zombies wasn’t enough, what about the way they were shown in “Naughty Ninjas”? Don’t you think the characters were kind of unempathetic?

It leads me to question the beleifs of the creators and weather or not they truly care about these real-life situations.

That has also lead me to think about the role reversal joke “In Red Man’s Greed”.

Homeless people are a scourge. I think hospital prisons should be created to get rid of them. There they would have shelter and aid but if they don't get better, its the prison but if they get better its a hospital. I forget the statistics but a good percentage of homeless are good people that want to work but ended up on bad times. These people should be helped. We are giving way too much money to welfare nations like Israel instead of helping our own people. There are millions of Americans needing money to help them eat and get shelter or for important life saving surgery. I think we should help our own people more. I know there is the welfare queen and they do exist. We need to lock up and remove people that don't work and are on social security disability. There are people in wheelchairs that get college educations and have jobs and make their own money. But there are people too that claim illness and sit on the couch watching 12 hours of TV a day while eating junk food and farting it into couch cushions. These people we should lock up. If there are people that can't do anything, we should lock them up unless they are old and have worked their whole lives. All people in Western Civilization work, its with the rich and the poor, we all work. Still some people end up so f*cked up, they can't move. Families shouldn't be burdened by having to take care of them and suffer too with time spent and money. There are too many Americans that are wasting peoples time and money one way or another. I think this is the real problem. We need to have money to help the people that will work and will get better but we need punishment and a place for those that choose to do nothing, a prison.

South Park is headed where like minds lead it to go. They can't make a show that doesn't reflect the minds of the current viewer and expect good ratings. If you find yourself not feeling in tune with the show, maybe your just a grandpa?

South Park isn't cry porn, you shouldn't expect it to be emotionally there for you to cry too and feel you now know the right message to pass along to solve the worlds problems, its just a comedy.

We don't know of Matt and Trey and if they help out at all by donation, which would be their way of showing caring of humanity but I'd expect they donate sometimes. Matt and Trey may die billionaire's, they may give most of that to charities. I'd like to see their kids get most of it myself, as I personally hate those filthy Leftist Billionaire Socialistic movement but its up to them.

Then there is this question I have about the McCormicks. Why haven’t they even thought of moving to some shelter, or even get help from the government some how?

They should go for government help, yeah, but they already have a house, dilapidated as it is, and now an abandoned mall around that, so there's no reason for them to find a shelter

i think we have to look at the moon rather than at the finger pointing at it. south park portrays a world where sometimes homeless people are zombies, they are invisible. it's not like they claimed that's right.

some people (and maybe you do, too) might still consider harsh portraying this in such a way, but that's south park's satire. i mean, if it weren't like this, it simply wouldn't be south park anymore.

Well it’s because I read this review on T.V. Com saying that episode was really hurtful to the homeless community, saying it made it seem like the creators had “no soul”. Yes, I was a little appalled at the way the cops were treating them in “Naughty Ninjas”, but I don’t know weather or not I’s draw the line on that.

Where I wanted to draw the line was at “Put it Down”.

If anything, south Park breaks a layer of hypocrisy and implicitly critizes a society that treats homeless people like they were zombies. I think that's the point of the episode.

If that's the impression the reviewer got out of it, he (or she) should remember that the season was about the changes coming to the town, including gentrification. One of the side effects of gentrification is the rise in homelessness as property values rise and the lower classes lose their homes to people who can pay more for higher rents. Richer people tend to look down on the homeless and wish they were gone, so the way the homeless were treated in the episode is pretty much the way they're treated in real life, and the reviewer ends up saying that society has no soul. All the episode is doing is pointing that out.

I'm sure they do, but they're only two men in a society of a third of a billion people. What does that society care about these real-life situations?

I wish people could better understand SP and the whole concept of satire, but it doesn’t mean they have to like it.

What you guys say about this?

Really, who do care about homeless people?

Homeless people are a mirror of our mistakes as a society, and people don't like to see there own mistakes being pointed, that's why most people don't like them. They look and they see the flaw but they don't do nothing about it, because human nature is human nature.

Is the South Park Studio the bad guy here? Your perspective is a very ignorant, not thought enough perspective, let me tell you.

What if the boys, at some point, happened to befriend some homeless people?

This is irrelevant to this thread - It's about how the show deals with religion. There's nothing wrong with that, but someone will always be offended. If you're religious and offended, this show is not for you.
