This could be the best episode ever.

And it is gone, PUFF.

It is like listening to a Beatles song for the first time.

Bailout chicken run is priceless, so is the salsa dispenser.

Kenny's outfit, secret jew cave, squirrels, first god who is actually making sense, everything is great.

Huge respect to the writers.

Walter wrote:-Liked how they represented the manner in which media has made Obama out to be a saviour ever since he won the election. This episode was most definitely a play on that.

The media actually hasn't since the election. Quite the contrary.

Before, OH YEAH they DID. But ever since then, they seem to be blaming the tanking market on him already. And when the market shot WAY UP 2 days ago, they attributed it to the Obama administration's unveiled plan, maybe that's what you're talking about?

So I think they are just looking at the market, and sensationalizing the story in a way seen fit for the moment.

The ONLY news channel still in love, perhaps sexually, with Obama is MSNBC.

Trust me, I watch the news ALL DAY, and I know, CNN is in the middle, Fox is on the right, and MSNBC wants to have sex with Obama.

Seriously, if you want somewhat unbiased reporting, watch CNN, and not the partisan hackery that goes on a Fox and MSNBC.

Stan represents the average American investor. Randy represents Rick Santelli. Kyle probably represents Jon Stewart. The chicken with its head cut off is the state of our economy.

Swing, ...

... and a miss !

The Sur La Table bit was funny though.

Debt Backed Fiat Currency, Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Lincoln/Greenbacks, JFK, the Federal Reserve Act of 1913; and especially the absurdity of FRACTIONAL RESERVE BANKING ...

... all make for an easy comedy target.

How could they have missed !?!

WOW... that was a well done, well balanced episode. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this gets an Emmy or at least a nomination... well done guys... well done...

My guessing wasn't too far off...
It's too bad Randy didn't have a lisp, And I expected them to all be drunk and drinking more Margaritas...

The Way Kenny's clothe is wrapped around his head does make him look mysteriously like Mysterion...

I enjoyed this premise and I wish economic recovery were that simple. It's a two-edged sword. You need to spend more, but you can't because you lost your job and most government unemployment benefits don't cover but the bare essentials, yet by not spending you force other companies to shut their doors leaving other people without jobs or money to spend. And, unilike past recessions, the majority of the people losing their jobs this time around are white-collar employees, not the "they took are jobs" blue-collar workers; when your white-collar workforce stops spending or investing, you have a serious problem.

I loved the headless chicken solution...that's probably closer to the truth than we'd like to believe.

Uh-oh, did M&T get permission to use the Margaritaville name? :timmy: Jimmy Buffett will SUE otherwise. He's a real jerk about any and all uses of the word that don't bring him money. He even had his lawyers chase down and hound a bar in Angeles, PHILIPPINES, that was using the name until they agreed to change it.

As for the episode, I'll say good but not great. Too many sub-themes got caked on. The religion parallel was a little strained. Stan trying to return the fancy blender was good. I think it tried to do a little too much, metaphorically speaking, for a 30-minute show. Even the song "American Pie" needed about twice the normal length to do a whole big stew, and it wasn't a comedy.

Part of the problem, also, is that we already have such hyperventilators on the economy like Glenn Beck that they've stolen the thunder from an over-the-top episode.

I'd also just like to ask... can we have a wallpaper of The Chart... Pleeeeeeaaase????? I think it would help everyone who needs to make difficult decisions. (and I'm also curious what the few options were that we couldn't see in the episode)

ROFL on the options like telethon and Indian Casino...
