Where Does the Movie Story Fit Into the Episodes?

Postby Jusscurio » Mon Oct 03, 2011 12:23 am

I'm currently watching every episode of south park starting from season 1. Right now I am on season 3 and I was wondering if after a certain episode I should watch the movie because it fits chronologically or is the movie something I can watch at any time because it doesn't fit into a certain season.

Well, they were still third graders in 1999, which means
1. Mr. Garrison still had his penis attached to his body (now it's detached and part of a mouse)
2. You should only watch it with episodes before "4th Grade" (Episode 412)

It really doesn't have a place among the episodes, because Matt and Trey started working on the movie almost as soon as they started working on the show, figuring that if the show tanked, at least they could put out a movie and move on.

Thanks! I guess I'll finish up season 3, watch the movie, then start season 4 or something.

The movie came out between the second and third seasons. It doesn't tie in too much with the story lines, but if you're looking to see everything in chronological order, that's where it belongs.

It actually came out in the middle of the third season, between "Jakovasaurs" and "Sexual Harassment Panda."

If you watch "Two Guys Naked In A Hot Tub", you will see a Mole (Christophe) reference already, so watch the movie before you reach that episode.

References to the film are made in season 4 and possibly elsewhere after that, so yeah, watch it around season 3. Interestingly, Stan makes a reference to BASEketball, which came out in 1998, so that'd be the boys' second season. Just an FYI.
