Maybe I wasn't in the mood, but I found this episode mediocre. I was hoping that if they ever spoofed the Da Vinci Code, they'd make a point of what an overrated, stinking pile of feces that book is... Dan Brown is a pathetic amateur. The Jesus comeback was cool and there was lots of cheeky wordplay...

Worst. Episode. Ever. No. Ever since "A Million Little Fibers" aired, the phrase "Worst. Episode. Ever." can no longer be used, because the gap between that rock bottom and the second worst episode ever is just too wide. A conspiracy buff might even argue that "A Million Little Fibers" was intended...

You could always write M&T and say you have cancer in your ass, that should melt their icy hearts.

Well, this final half season episode can't possibly be worse than what we've seen in these 6 prior episodes. I guess Matt and Trey are in.... sit back and collect the cash mode. Very disappointing that they put out such below average crap when they only make 7 episodes at a time. That towely/Oprah ...

Re: Skipping the Flame wars...

But I must quibble: Comedy Central is not an agent of government, and is in no position to "apply the law". You can fault them for not " exercising their rights ", which indeed was a point made in the episode itself. That's what I meant, but as I'm not a native English speaker I sometimes hit speed...

Re: Skipping the Flame wars...

The corporation is fully within its rights to choose what (and what not) to broadcast. They are indeed; by no means are they required to apply the law to its full extent. Then again one could argue that this, if anything, was an excellent (imho) opportunity to do so. I'm not in favor of oversteppin...

pitchblank: Damn, you're good. Hey thanks, well... living next door to Denmark I kind of had a head start on this one. I usually have a kneejerk reaction against resorting to the dictionary in substantive debate, but that's just the (smug alert!) Wittgenstein in me. Yours is the most cogent explana...

Re: Skipping the Flame wars...

Now granted, this does not clear up the issue as to whether Muhammed was actually drawn/animated or not...but the context of this email seems to say it was made clear beforehand that it wouldn't be shown: ...which is why we gave them carte blanche in every facet but one: we would not broadcast a po...

Furthermore, terrorism is merely a political term which has grown to be so generalized(1) that people, be it Matt and Trey or people right here on the BBS, have stretched to mean anything from a vague threat to in any way exerting real power. Terrorism *is* a very broad term which covers the entire...

This episode has got to air uncensored. CC has got to lift the ban. It's just insane that any thinking American could let these murderous terrorists win like this. It's almost treasonous in a way. Well - I don't think the fear of muslim retaliation is what's holding CC back; sadly, they fear fallin...

This is NOT about free speech. We all KNOW that there is free speech in the US, in Denmark and in most western countries. You're right, ultimately it's not about free speech - or rather, it goes beyond that. It's about a power struggle between the western world and the arab world. It's about muslim...

And why people saying SP didn't insult Muslims. NO SEX NO JACKING OFF and SAND. I think thats quite a big insult, but i take it in the context of the show, and that it's being said by a racist (Ms. Garrison), and just laugh. Sure, it's Ms. Garrison saying it, but satire is largely lost on these gro...

COMEDY CENTRAL HAS f*cking SHOWN MOHAMMED BEFORE. Yes - but it went by unnoticed, much unlike the Danish cartoons which stirred a great big shitstorm and led to arab embassies being pulled from Denmark and Danish/Norwegian embassies being burned down in Syria. A fatwa was issued on the cartoonists,...

I fully agree that the real story of the Danish cartoons is that there was no story until some extremists fanned the flames. But we're talking human nature, not clash of civilizations. Clash of ages, rather. 2006 meets the 16th century. Even the more secular of these guys acknowledge that burning e...
