Even though you're having such troubles I think it's awesome that you're still applying yourself and putting yourself out there...when I was in high school I was like jesus this is hard....then I slacked 'til graduation.

The problem here is that social reformers (such as MLK, Bartolomé de las Casas, etc) are immediately condemned by this logic, because they went against the cultural consensus of this time period. I think that what is or isn't moral in general is determined by society's concensus on right and wrong.

If you don't particularly care to be an accepted member of a given society and have no personal qualms about causing harm to another individual I'd say there is no good reason not to hurt someone.
