OK, I'll dissent somewhat: 6.5 out of 10

Trey, you've got to quit playing games with the Comedy Central censors. Once again we get a show so loaded down with bleeps and gratuitous stuff that the wit/satire gets overwhelmed. Viewers aren't prudes and can appreciate a good edgy joke (Cartman joins NAMBLA being a past classic), but lately it ...

Re: *1307: Fatbeard* Post-Air Discussion

And this viewer rates it....a 7.4 out of 10. Average. Main problem is how farfetched the premise is and how so many liberties with the plot were taken to get the group over there. Though wisely it didn't include Stan, Kyle or Kenny. Some of the jokes worked, but Cartman is leaning too hard on the bl...

Idea: Do a travel show to THAILAND !!!

Any show with as long a run as SP inevitably does "travel" shows with "fish out of water" plots, even if it's to Afghanistan or Canada or someplace like that (just trying to remember where SP characters have gone). M&T are missing a bet, though, by not finding a way to send t...

Re: *1306: Pinewood Derby* Post-Air Discussion

I'll give it an 8.6 and say it's the best of the 6 so far this half-season. Having Randy steal the particle accelerator thingey was a bit of a plot stretch, and space aliens are as well (though that precedent has been with the show since S01E01). IMO it was more than balanced out by the message abou...

Old celebrities make better targets than newer ones

I think in general the old, established celebrities make better targets than newer ones. Why? well, the older ones have had more time to become totally full of themselves, believe their own hype and live in a bubble than the newer ones have. The ultimate badge of honor is if they're so far gone that...

Re: *1305: Fishsticks* Post-Air Discussion

OK, I'll be Simon here and say...7.9 on a 1-to-10 scale for S13E05. Middling. Still no standouts among the first 5 in season 13, IMO, though also no duds. (My 2 faves in recent years, BTW, have been "Overlogging" and "Make Love Not Warcraft") Kanye West is undeniably full of hims...

Re: *1304: Eat, Pray, Queef* Post-Air Discussion

Reaction to S13E04: Looks like M&T are trying to push the censors again, especially with the Stewart scene. I'd rate this one in the midtier of SP episodes. Every so often you need to throw in one that isn't really "about" anything. It's also a reminder that the show has a certain atti...

Re: *1303: Margaritaville* Post-Episode Discussion

Uh-oh, did M&T get permission to use the Margaritaville name? Jimmy Buffett will SUE otherwise. He's a real jerk about any and all uses of the word that don't bring him money. He even had his lawyers chase down and hound a bar in Angeles, PHILIPPINES, that was using the name until they agreed to...

Re: *1205: Eek, A Penis!* Post-Air Discussion

I thought it was a good, double-threaded plot, though I liked the Cartman subplot better than the Garrison one. The whole bit with chasing the penis with mouse mobility properties is such a huge gag set-up that you could expect a milder version on Saturday Night Live.

Re: *Episode 1201 Post-Air Discussion*

I'd have to say I was very disappointed with "Tonsil Trouble" (S12E01). The premise of having your two main characters "cured" of an HIV infection is just too much of a no-go, plausibility-wise, and that problem overshadowed some potentially good bits. The point about public conc...
