Re: Can we return to non politic-sarcastic SP?

We can't. In my thirteen or so years in this fandom, I was convinced Matt and Trey were just hitting a fumble here and there, that the show had plenty of room to grow, and that there were just a few easy things Matt and Trey could try to breathe in new energy that could buy the show decades' more st...

Re: S23E07: "Board Girls" postshow discussion

I have not watch this episode, and I'm not planning to watch the rest of the season. I wasn't planning to post anything, but I did want to note on observation on the show - this episode met a divisive reception and pissed off some people, and I'm not wading into whether or not that's valid, but what...

Re: S23E07: "Board Girls" preshow discussion

But I am highly curious as to why Kyle isn't a part of this. He's not mentioned or seen at all in the preview. Also wanted to note too- last week in 'Season Finale' Kyle was absent when his parents take the lasagna over for Sharon and the kids. Stan is seen having fun with Cartman and Butters yet K...

Trump and the state of the show

Sure, they joked about Bush or Obama sometimes, but that's it. No kindergarden level butthurt that spans the entire term. How could it, this isn't some kind of prank, it's the current direction. But, for what it's worth, Season 22 has been "passable to quite decent", so maybe there can still be som...

Re: S23E07: "Board Girls" preshow discussion

After last week's disappointment, I have zero interest left. Randy will do something dumb and suffer nothing and the kids will be lucky to get one scene. Someone might die. The 'Girls' in the title won't be anyone we care about.

Character Death: Who Will Be Next?

Every couple seasons, South Park kills off another recurring character - it's a clear pattern. Ms. Crabtree, Chef, the Mayor's Aide, Pip, Clyde's mom, Satan, Terrance Mephesto in theory, and now Jason White. Kenny, Jesus and Ned were all intended to be killed off permanently and granted reprieves in...

Re: The Official Bradley Discussion Thread thru S20

This thread was created eight years ago, and dated until three years ago, but Bradley has still not made a single speaking appearance in the show since then, lol

Re: S23E06: "Season Finale" postshow discussion

I didn't like the episode. Boo hoo, no one cares. I'd analyze the episode but it's not relevant. I'm not the target audience and that's just how it is. They completely followed through on the Mexican Joker. He even gets away after being wounded to return at some future date, I'm sure There's plenty ...

Re: S23E05: "Tegridy Farms Halloween Special" postshow discussion

I liked this one a lot, and it might be my new favorite of the season. The Tegridy Farms runner has worked best when it's allowed Matt and Trey to pick apart how it affects other characters - like Stan in "Band in China" and here with Shelly. It's those situations that justify making these things la...

Re: Kyle is the Worst

The problems start with Kyle never really developing much past this initial description, despite the 20 season run of South Park. This is categorically false. Kyle has changed as a character in many ways; he just has never had an episode directly showcasing this change. I think the season 4 episode...

Re: Star Wars

And now we're seeing ads for the Bobba Fett series Disney is coiling up on it's new steaming, er streaming service. It's going to suck. Prequel/backstory sh*t always sucks. It doesn't move anything forward to try and over explain otherwise interesting characters with a bit of mystery about them. In...

Re: Complete List of Official Collectibles

There is near complete list of action figures that I have somewhere, and can supply if you like, but I have no advanced knowledge of other forms of collectibles. I've bought some plushes over the years but I don't know exactly what was manufactured when and by who.

Re: S23E04: "Let Them Eat Goo" postshow discussion

See, the joke with LeBron James is the sort of pop culture reference I like more - the kids quoting things from the news, or from movies or history. It makes a sort of sense that they'd pull things like that, real life people do it all the time, and while I imagine it pulls some out of the experienc...

Re: A jew and an antisemite

I don't mind this stuff as playful fan speculation, it's my favorite part of broader fandom, but you seem to be inquiring about author intentions, and that's a simpler matter. I think the easy answer is I don't think Trey and Matt ever intended to revisit the issue of Cartman's parentage, and only d...

Re: Who is your best friend on the BBs?

I didn't even realize I'd been mentioned in this thread once, much less years ago when I figured I blurred more into the crowd - wow! The two people I know here best who have posted regularly are @Shane Haughey, who has been inactive over the last few years but I'm certain pops in on occasion. He kn...
