Re: *1606: I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining* Post-Air Disc

It's funny actually with so many people complaining about this season while wishing for the show to go back to its roots. They've been doing this quite a bit, yet people still seem to gripe about it. We got a return of several classic catchphrases, Mr. Hankey, and even a return to random live action...

Re: *1606: I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining* Post-Air Disc

See, the live action was terrible, but that was what made it amusing. Those reenactment scenes in television shows are always painful. It's a long running tradition in crime and reality shows. So the cheesiness and wretchedness of it all was part of the joke and was different. People are acting like...

Re: The Official Kyle Discussion Thread thru S20

Kyle is probably the one who works best as a secondary character than a main one because of his much more rational personality compared to the others. And while his character is the stick in the mud of them, it's kinda necessary for someone to play the foil when the plot gets absurd. It also allows ...

Re: The Official Butters Discussion Thread thru S20

I tend to like Butters episodes. Awesome-O, Last of the Meheecans, Butters' Bottom Bitch and Professor Chaos are all pretty high on my list of episodes. He's a nice foil for the boys, particularly Cartman and actually acts like a kid. And his speech at he end of Butterballs was quite possibly one of...

Re: *1606: I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining* Post-Air Disc

Wow, people really want any reason to rip this season. This is likely my least favorite of the season, but I'm going to admit that much of that stems from the fact that I don't watch much reality television (and thus little tv in general) and thus the parody did not have the same effect. Same thing ...

Re: homosexual vs. n*gger

I find it hilarious that you're up in arms over words when in context it should be more offensive to someone who is kinda not straight. I care a whole lot more about someone's intent than language used, often to make a point. Actions are an even better indicator of one's true nature. The last episod...

Re: homosexual vs. n*gger

So you advocate never using any word that is racially/sexually loaded until we all live in harmony? Yeah, not happening. Listen, I'm bisexual. I've had friends who are of just about any demographic you can think of. We treat one another like people. Sitting around whining because people use slurs re...

Re: homosexual vs. n*gger

You know, being whiny does nothing. Like it or not, which term do you think is more commonly used. I live in a town that is roughly 95% white with most minorities being latino. I don't hear n*igger. When I go in the city though.... Case in point, The Boondocks uses it regularly. This is a black domi...

Re: homosexual vs. n*gger

You hear the word used by racists, and I mean actual ones, not the pansy internet tough guys and blacks in the company of others. They've already played with racism multiple times. South Park has its redneck elements and it's been played up when appropriate. There's not a ton left to do there. So th...

Re: Old season vs New season

See, I actually find the first couple seasons far too random to be entertaining consistently. Don't get me wrong in that there are some classic moments, but most of the episodes are not the strongest in terms of structure. It's college humor and fit in well when M&T were still in their 20s and t...

And suddenly a piss poor inner city education before NCLB passed seems mighty impressive.

And no, that's not a compliment to the education system of that time.

Re: south park on US/Israeli/Palestinian thing

Uh, the show's taken a ton of pot shots of at Jews at the individual level and playing around with just about every stereotype. I mean, isn't Sheila Broflovski pretty much every common East Coast Eastern European Jewish trope rolled into one? She's domineering and nosy even with the best intentions....

Or they could just like tacos and ice cream and figured a taco pooping out ice cream was hilarious (very likely while imbibing in some substance).

Re: South Park vs The Internet! OHMY!

Dude, butthurt much? South Park has always had its fun with pop culture and fads and ripping them apart. It's all in good humor. So what if memes produce some gems? Yeah, there's a lot of great independent made shows/jokes get spread. There's also plenty of complete utter garbage out there. It's not...

Re: *1603: Faith Hilling* Post-Air Discussion

First off, let me get this cheap shot/ad hominem out of the way: you like Jersey Shore. Matt and Trey made fun of that idiotic, mindless show, along with its fans, so I'm sure they give a damn that they lost YOU as a fan. Funny that YOU call Matt/Trey out on "missing the point." You've CO...
