Re: S23E03: "Shots!!!" postshow discussion

This might be one of the weirdest topics I've ever seen on this forum. We're hardly talking the episode. It's clear from the first scene with Cartman that this episode is really more about his fear of needles than anything other than that, and the joke with him running around like a little piggy is ...

Re: Best South Park Villian

I don't think this show's ever really had a villain who truly worked out as a long-term threat. It's a massive blind spot for Matt and Trey, who often introduce new rivals or villains for main characters who last one episode and are then completely eliminated. Alex Hollis, Gavin Throttle, etc. all s...

Re: Star Wars

I grew up with the Star Wars films and though most over thirty will insist the prequel films are desolate garbage, I was too young to question Phantom Menace and if you accept that at face value, the rest isn't so difficult. Those six films formed a crucial, foundational element of the person I beca...

No clue why I seemed to match so strongly with Token's Dad, even after reading his description. I had a lot of fun with this tool...

Re: S23E03: "Shots!!!" preshow discussion

I was a little nervous when I saw the press release, but the clip calmed me down. I do find the anti-vaccination movement a bit of a lazy target but that doesn't make it any less deserving and hopefully Trey will find some fun in the story from it. Randy celebrating a milestone seems to guarantee at...

Re: S23E02: "Band in China" postshow discussion.

It continues to confuse me that Trey and Matt seem to be pushing Randy harder and harder as a protagonist while also throwing in more jokes about his carelessness and lack of interest in his family. I have trouble telling if it's part of the intended satire to portray him as a sh*tty human being, or...

Re: S23E02: "Band in China" preshow discussion.

I was just thinking the other day about how many years it had been since the show visited a band storyline, although the first episode certainly captured a particular era. I wonder if there may be any references to those previous episodes here? ...Probably not. What adds some interest though is the ...

Re: S23E01: "Mexican Joker" postshow discussion.

I just hope that this doesn’t become the Tegridy Farms show and everybody else in town becomes an afterthought. The intro and outro have me concerned that they’re heading in that direction now. I also wish Randy would go back to his old self, getting caught up in the latest stupid trends and hilari...

Re: S22E10: "Bike Parade" postshow discussion.

I never commented on this one. After the three episodes before it I was feeling underwhelmed overall, but I actually really liked this one. The 'Bike Parade' at the end was such a cute little scene that encapsulates a lot of what South Park could be and should be - "a little town that loves each oth...

Re: S23E01: "Mexican Joker" preshow discussion.

This topic is still showing as open and I never got my speculation in.

I was kind of hoping to see David Rodriguez at some point, even a nod, given the subject matter. The show hasn't really used him since s19 ended.

Re: S23E01: "Mexican Joker" postshow discussion.

Opening the show as Tegridy Farms was a huge surprise and I'm on board. But seeing Randy get all Godfather on the homegrowers, that might be a bit to far for that character. It's like the first time we saw Fatass pull a gun on someone. This is largely how I felt. The show's been filled with these m...

Re: Characters Ranked by Speaking Appearances (Updated for S22)

Here's my tally now. Let me know where the discrepancies lie and I'll check them out. I've added the Tuckers, the Testaburgers, the Valmers, and the Stevens, even if Mr. Stevens has only spoken once, afaik. I've added a column for South Park Phone Destroyer , but don't have info on who speaks in th...

Re: Characters Ranked by Speaking Appearances (Updated for S22)

test 123 I wrote out a long, long response and the form expired. I'm glad this project and still going and still find it extremely useful and gain new insight with every new view. I did some math in my own head based on your note about the parents and sadly, none of the moms have quite hit the magic...

Best Character Exit

Despite "South Park"'s leniency with long-term continuity, most character deaths beyond Kenny have been affected as permanent -- Grandma Cartman, Ms. Crabtree, Chef, Ted the aide, Pip, Tom Cruise, Betsy Donovan, Leslie, Satan and likely Ned -- in addition to a few passings intended as permanent that...

Re: S22E10: "Bike Parade" preshow discussion.

It's a miracle! Stephen gets a promotion at work and a big surprise at home. Now I see why Jeff Bezos is using old technology: He's giving Butters everything he needs to win first place in the bike parade. :) This is the kind of preview clip I really like. Sheds more light on the episode. Bezos wan...
