[quote="Tweeks_Coffee":03014]Anberlin sounds like all the other bands that are coming out right now to take advantage of the emo/pop-punk fad. Corporate rock manufactured to appeal to the masses doesn\\\'t really interest me.[/quote:03014]
I think Anberlin is a little closer to the metal side of rock, I don't see where you get punk. And saying they are pop is toatlly out there. I can see Emo maybe.

I did not say they were pop, or punk for that matter. I said they were pop-punk, like new Green Day or Fallout Boy. Borderline emo, but not to the level of bands like Thursday or Taking Back Sunday.

I've been to the following concerts:

Lee Greenwood (very good from what I can remember).

Sawyer Brown - same as above

Tanya Tucker -Can't Run From Your Self tour - Fabulous

Tanya Tucker - Fire to Fire tour - One of the best ever
I also got to meet her before the concert.

James Rogers - very good concert

Neil Diamond (that was a nightmare. my mom made my sisters & I go to the concert with her & my step-dad. We were teenagers at the time and the only teens there!) The greatest moment of that night was when that concert was over!

The Monkees - 1997 reunion concert - the concert was one of my best concert experiences. all of my favorite songs were played.

Teen Idols - 1998 - the singers were Davy Jones (Monkees), Peter Noone & Bobby Sherman - that concert was all right the best part of that show was Davy Jones (my main reason for going).

Redyfules is good, but it IS one of their older songs....2003 in fact. This one, though, is a lot more recent and I like it a lot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2exE-td4F3k

Yeah, I'd heard Paperthin Hymn a year or so ago when it first came out. I haven't listened to broadcast radio since (No, they did not solely turn me off it), so I'm not familiar with anything they may've released since.

I'm not really saying that I hate them or anything nearly that harsh. I'm just saying that they're pretty much the same thing as any of these other dime-a-dozen bands that are populating the media now. They really elicit no kind of real response from me, I'm not entirely sure why this became a big thing here.

EDIT: Oh, on the concert front: I just found out that Electric Soft Parade is having a CD release party next Tuesday. I'll probably go to that. I don't really have too much interest in them, but it'll be cheap and I can score some free stuff.

This years Give It A Name festival was really good. The line-up was awsome and each band did a great set. Only disapointment to me was Ville Valo of H.I.M. forgetting some lyrics to the songs (He needs to layoff the booze before shows). Still, H.I.M. did put on a great show and I'm very happy that I finally got to see them (and that the rest of the band were sober during the set). I was amazed that I managed to see every band on the Bill. Last year when I went, I had to sit out for a few cause It was Exhausting having to stand through them all (there was about 13 acts last year). Anyway, heres the bands I saw this year.....

Main Stage
H.I.M.
The Used
Alexisonfire
Juliette and the Licks
Mindless Self Indulgence
Cry For Silence

Side Stage:
Fightstar
The Sleeping
Ignite
The Pink Spiders
Kill Hannah
LostAlone

Next gig for me is Muse!

Muse were incredible last night at Wembley Stadium. They played such a great set which included all my favorite Muse songs, were normally, the band I've come to see will miss out loads of the songs I hoped hear. There so great live, I've seen them live performances by them on TV and on their DVD, but to be their was amazing.

I did miss the first support act, which was Shy Child, but the other two, which were Biffy Clyro and My Chemical Romance were great. I think I heard a few boo's for My Chemical Romance, but that band just doesn't give a sh*t about what people think of them, and they ended up putting on a great show themselves.

The crowd was huge though, something like 90,000 people showed up, which made getting home a bitch. The police had to block off Wembley Station in the end, and only let some people through at a time. Getting home from concerts up london always proves to be difficult.

ZZ Top, The Pretenders, Stray Cats. I personally thought the Stray Cats brought the house down.
