Jesus, what the hell is your problem? What is the point of this thread other than to make yourself feel big by insinuating that you think most people around here are illiterate?
Yes, I know who Thomas Pynchon is but I really couldn't care less about him or his books. Because they aren't the type of genre I like to read.
But if you're just here to call people philistines, and pick on other people because they don't think much to your "taste" in books or anything else, I will defend them because if people don't want to read books, they don't have to.

the point of this thread shares the same point as any thread: the hope that some users here might answer, "yes", followed by a discussion on his earlier novels and after tuesday, dialogue about against the day.
and if anything, i, like parker and stone, am making commentary. what about? about the narrow-minded, likely young audience of south park. i'm trying to see what types of people watch this show now that it's such a scatological, shoddy, much less shrewd, obvious waste of time.

And FYI if you tried changing the title of this thread from 'do south park fans read?' to 'The New Pynchon is coming out...' you'd probably find your discussion.
I thought this thread would be a discussion of literature when I clicked on it, but no. It's just one low person who thinks they're better than everyone else.
Grow up, dude.

the only person i insulted was the one who attacked my first post which was just a series of questions. but i'm still curious if anyone here has heard of pynchon, because i know there are some radiohead fans here, and they reference his books in at least 4 of their songs, and with the name of their merchandise retail.

Well, he ain't Fiona Apple, and if he ain't Fiona Apple....
Kidding, I never heard his name until your post, but I wiki'd him, and apparently I'm missing out on something good. Which novel do you reccomend to read first? Is there a m-reader e-book version somewhere?

Your assh*le must be really big for it to consume your head so very very easily.
How does not reading/caring about "thomas pynchon" (capitals too much?) make you smart?
I read- but I gave up on modern books since "Lovely Bones" which also had a lot of arrogant assh*les ranting on about it and it's genius. Do you have any idea how much ass that book sucked?
You and "thomas pynchon" can suck my big hairy man-balls for all I care. I'm going to stick to my Howard Pyle and all that other outdated shiznits.
Seriously, f*ck you and the elitist ship you sailed in on.
