Three V.I.N. items fer ya of a Friday.

This is truly giving - Madonna donates Vanity Fair mags to Kabbalah centre - one's with her on the cover... http://www.nypost.com/seven/04032008/go ... 104753.htm

This truly hilarious - Bobby Brown never took cocaine before he met Whitney - she drove him to it! - http://www.hiphop-elements.com/article/read/4/20416/1/

This is truly appalling - and not unique to the US. http://www.ajc.com/opinion/content/opin ... d0403.html

Extract:
The U.S. Census Bureau reports the current poverty rate is just over 12 percent, as it was in 1968, while the number of people living in poverty has grown from 25 million to more than 36 million, including 12 million children. Even worse, a family of four with two children and an annual income of $21,027 is not even considered poor by our government's reporting standards. Many people have become immune to these statistics, but we cannot wait for another Katrina to truly grasp that America is awash in poverty.

Boy In Trouble For 'South Park' Comments
WHAT, WHAT, WHAT?!!

Did Sexual Harassment Panda visit Boston?

http://www.thebostonchannel.com/educati ... etail.html

"The 11-year old boy said he was quoting "South Park" at school and three girls said they considered his remarks sexual harassment, Boston TV station WCVB reported. The girls' parents are now taking legal action."

I can see how the parents may be upset and I can even see them having a big meeting where everyone agrees that the boy must be stopped; maybe suspent him for a time. BUT LEGAL ACTION?

There is nothing worse than outraged, self righteous parents.

This kind of thing, sad to have to use the word, actually does outrage me, because it's so outrageously absurd.

Senate panel approves bill allowing castration for sex offenders
by Ed Anderson, The Times Picayune
Tuesday April 08, 2008, 1:04 PM

BATON ROUGE -- A Senate committee today took the first step toward giving judges the authority to order sex offenders to undergo physical or chemical castration.

The Judiciary C Committee unanimously passed Senate Bill 144 by Sen. Nick Gautreaux, D-Abbeville, to give a judge the option to order medroxyprogestrone acetate, or MPA, to be administered to a first time sex offender. On a repeat violation, the judge must order the treatment for a specific time if a medical expert agrees the treatment can help the offender.

The offender can opt for physical castration on a first or second offense if he agrees to the surgery and a judge concurs.

Gautreaux said the state does not currently allow either type of castration. He said one or both forms of the procedure can help sex offenders lower their sex drive and possibly keep them from committing future sex crimes.

Gautreaux said either type of castration would be in addition to the jail time a judge orders the offender to serve. The castration cannot reduce the sentence or replace it, Gautreaux said.

"This does not make it easy on the sex offender," Gautreaux said.

The committee also approved Gautreaux's Senate Bill 143 to prohibit anyone convicted of a sex offense from wearing a mask, hood or costume to hand out candy or gifts on Halloween to children under 18. The bill was amended to prohibit the distribution of gifts by a sex offender who may or may not wear a costume at other times of the year, such as Easter and Christmas.

A violator could get at least six months and up to three years in jail with the first six months to be served behind bars.

Both bills must now be debated by the Senate.

Hopefully, next on the agenda is eugenics.

'World peace' hitcher is murdered

An Italian woman artist who was hitch-hiking to the Middle East dressed as a bride to promote world peace has been found murdered in Turkey.

The naked body of Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo, 33, known as Pippa Bacca, was found in bushes near the city of Gebze on Friday.

She had said she wanted to show that she could put her trust in the kindness of local people.

Turkish police say they have detained a man in connection with the killing.

Reports say the man led the police to the body.

Autopsy

Ms di Marineo was hitch-hiking from Milan to Lebanon with a fellow artist on their "Brides on Tour" project.

They had separated in Istanbul, planning to reunite in Beirut.

Ms di Marineo was last seen on 31 March in Gebze.

An Italian embassy official told the Associated Press news agency police tracked the man when he put a new SIM card into Ms di Marineo's mobile phone.

Local media identified the suspect only by the initials MK and said he had a previous conviction for theft.

Ms di Marineo's sister, who had gone to Turkey to look for her, identified the body. An autopsy is being conducted in Istanbul.

"Her travels were for an artistic performance and to give a message of peace and of trust, but not everyone deserves trust," another sister, Maria, told the Italian news agency, Ansa.

There a great pic of the Fiesta and the Porsche in the link. It looks like the Fiesta tried to forcibly '69' the posher vehicle - which is possibly what ordinary cars would like to do if they had sexual feelings and fancied more expensive models...

£60k Porsche pile-up for Jack, 93

A 93-year-old driver who had not had an accident in 76 years but caused £60,000 worth of damage to two Porsche cars has spoken of his "miracle" escape.

Jack Higgs was uninjured when his Ford Fiesta hit a Carrera II then flipped over onto a Porsche 911 outside a showroom in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan.

He was found hanging upside down by his seatbelt in his overturned Fiesta.

The former Pentecostal minister, who lives next door to the showroom, has now decided to quit driving.

Mr Higgs said he could not explain how he managed to lose control of his 13-year-old car and smash into the Porsches.

One of the elite cars was a write-off while the other was badly damaged and will need extensive repairs.

Both cars were privately owned and were in the garage for servicing.

Mr Higgs' Fiesta, worth £600, was also a write-off.

The cost of his accident was estimated at £60,000, which will be met by his insurance company.

"I've been driving since I was 17, have a clean licence and have never even picked up so much as a parking ticket," said Mr Higgs.

He said he would be relying on the bus service and lifts to get him around from now on.

"I just don't know what happened except that I lost control as I was reversing and suddenly I had hit the cars.

"The next thing I knew I was hanging upside down in my car thanking my lucky stars I was still alive.

"It was a miracle I got out alive and I put it down to the power of prayer and God looking after me.

"But that's it - the end of my driving career, I'm never driving again."

Staff at the RS Porsche base said Mr Higgs managed to get himself free and walked away from the crash without a scratch.

He was given the all-clear after being checked over by paramedics.

He is well-known to workers at the showroom and has driven across the forecourt to get to his garage for 45 years without any problems.

Porsche dealer Dave Coombs said: "It was amazing. We could hardly believe our eyes at the damage.

"He managed to get himself free and walked out without a scratch. But the Porsches were a real mess.

"There was glass and bits of broken metal everywhere - but Jack is such a gentleman he asked for a sweeping brush to help clear them up.

"But we walked him to his home for a cup of sweet tea while the breakdown trucks arrived to tow away the cars.

"I'm not too concerned about the cars - what matters is that Jack survived, which is incredible considering his great age."

Is this Spring Break or an invasion of hippies? No. Just some monkeys looking to live free: “I want to go where I want to go, do what I want to do”

GILBRALTAR TO CULL BARBARY APES THAT TERRORIZE TOURISTS.

A pack of 25 of the Barbary macaques have “run riot” on a beach, have broken into hotel rooms and have been caught scavenging in bins in the town centre.

“They’ve been spotted going through rubbish, vandalising property and stealing from people. They ran riot at the beach at Catalan Bay.”

John Prescott a former deputy Prime Minster of Britian admitted that he suffered from bulimia.

'I took refuge in stuffing my face...' he said yesterday. And if you look at teh pic in the link you'll believe him. Some say he's brave to make this admission; others (me) say 'ain't that peculiar - he has a book coming out!'

The best thing ever about John Prescott, who was a more typical member of the British Labour Party till smiley shiny Tony Blair came along, is that he did this to a protester who threw an egg at him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRQDnGTcc4A

Seriously - watch this. Prescott doesn't hesitate for more than a second before reacting. He was deputy PM at the time and he kept his job.

Oh, and don't be fooled by his supposed staunch Labour politics - his nick name is 'Two Jags', as in he owns two Jaguars.

Hello? Darwin Awards, where are ya? Darwin Awards used be quite a big thing on the net, in the ol days...

Call me insane but a priest's job description, such as there is any, doesn't really call for this. There's a short video of him in the link. Supercrazymonstereejitness!

Balloons used in priest's record flight attempt found
Brazilian priest missing after winds swept him out to sea as he tried to set record for flight using helium-filled balloons

Rescuers searching for a priest missing after he attempted to break the record for flying using helium-filled balloons have found a cluster of balloons floating off the coast of Brazil.

Rev Adelir Antonio di Carli was last heard from on Sunday night, eight hours after he took off. Strong winds had blown him off his planned route and out to sea.

Di Carli, harnessed to hundreds of brightly coloured helium-filled balloons, lifted off from the port city of Paranaguá. He was making the record attempt to raise awareness of his work with lorry drivers there.

Rescuers said they hoped the priest - who was equipped with enough cereal bars and water to stay alive for five days - had washed ashore on one of several islands dotting the stretch of coast where he disappeared.

"Given his physical condition and the equipment he was carrying, I would say there is an 80% chance he is still alive," Johnny Coelho, the commander of the Penha fire department, said.
