Postby Butters_06 » Wed Jun 27, 2007 10:42 am

I dont know if this has been posted up already so i apoligize before hand.

The New Rockstar Game due to bhe released Manhunt 2 due to be released has now been banned in Britain, Ireland and soon to be Italy and America (f*ck yeah) due to its intense sadism.

i ask you bbs posters what do you think of this situation? do you think that the game should be banned or not?

Games don't kill people. If someone kills someone els because of the game, they are crazy and were bound to kill in time. They will still get triggered to kill from a movie or just watching CNN.

Honesty,

I am completely against cesorship in any way. If they showed porn on public television, I would be perfectly fine with that (after all in these technological days, parents can block out channels).

As with this case, I am completely against the government ban. The game has a rating of AO (adult oriented) in the USA. So what's the big deal? I worked at a video game store a while back and we couldn't sell AO games to minors. And if an adult wanted to play it, for god's sake let him... I'm sick of this paranoid propoganda saying that games are going to turn us all into murderers.
I don't have to conform to everyone else and make a signature!!! oh... sh*t!

I was a big fan of the original Manhunt. It wasn't any worse than a movie. But I think its screwed up that, even if it is so damn violent that it needs and AO rating, why they don't just release the damn game instead of pulling crap like this. I don't see how this game can be any more graphic than something like the movie Hostel. I just hope that Manhunt 2 doesn't really suck, like Hostel...

from what i have seen the game is kick ass, it is a lot better than the first one with a lot more brutal executions and enviornment kills as well now where you can throw people into electrical boxes and watch them fry,

it is a violent game but not as violent as some things

il agree with you there, Adults have the right to play whatever game they want, but i have a few question
"what games did Jack the ripper play before he started murdering people?"
"what games did Fred West play before killing people?"
"What games did Ted Bundy play before killing everyone?"
the Answer none, Crazy people are crazy for a reason and they want to blame games for it and it p*sses me right off

Recently i was rocked that the US will be getting Manhunt 2, But sadley there is no word on the UK version, although Holland will be able to sell the AO rated version of the game as they are too doped to think about anything (Im only kidding i love Holland especially as they are region 2 and i can order the game from them)

but lets take this into consideration In Holland Manhunt 2 will be available in all stores even though it is an AO but if it sold to a minor then the government has the power to do something.....

i think that this is the best policy, as Adults we have the choice of what we want to play, watch, eat, ect not to be told you can only eat this, you can only drink this, you are only allowed to watch this basically this has p*ssed me off that even though most of us are average intelligance which means that we can tell the difference between reality and make believe. but yet we are still treated like we are f*cking 3 .......as an adult and a parent i feel that it is my responsibility that my girl doesnt play this game, yes she is a bit too young, but that shouldnt be stoping us fom doing what we want.

Well, you don't have to worry much anymore, it's M rated now. They say there weren't many cuts, just a part were you castrate a guy with pliers, which I had no interest in seeing anyway, so it's all good.

I agree wholeheartedly with you here...

It's rated M now? That's good. I never really thought the game deserved an AO rating anyway.

Loved the first one...when the second one comes out, I'll be buying that as well. From what I've read up on it, the new features are some pros and cons. The good news is that you can use ANY object (on the floor, the wall, etc.) An example, if there is a phone hooked to the wall, you can use the phone to beat the person's head in and use the cord to stranger the prick to death. But the bad news is, that the character isn't use to "killing" people, so he pukes and passes throughout the first part of the game.
