Toys back then were cool.
Yes! Those things were the greatest thing at pool parties for years and years!
These days...they all seem to be Furby-esque interaction things...
*yawn*
Those Furby things were demented, I swear! I use my brother's old one for a target for my handmade bow and arrow. Mine...the white fur was pretty, so I just left it alone and took out the batteries.
Remember those Tamagotchi things? I had one back in first grade...

Goodbye, cruel world...
I'm leaving you today
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye...
Goodbye, all you people
There's nothing you can say
To make me change my mind...
Goodbye...

Tamagotchi things? I don't know what that is, but man those Furbies scared me! Remember the McDonald's' ripoffs of the real ones?
You press the tail, and the ears and eye-lids move.

They reminded me of the Gremlins. Was that in the 90's?

Yeah.
I used to have one back in first grade...those blasted things beeped and crap 24/7. What a pain.
Ooh, ooh! Remember Bill Nye the Science Guy and The Magic School Bus? We sat around in Physics class last Friday and talked about it. I used to love those shows as a kid...
Whatever happened to Bill Nye? I miss that show a lot...the music video things at the end were a hoot.

It's weird for a guy who's nostalgic about the 70s and 80s to read a thread nostalgic about the 90s.

Well it doesn't have to be the generation you grew up in, but I researched the 70's and 80's and it seems that there were more things going on, in terms of food, fads, and games in the 90's. Not to mention, the birth of South Park.

The villians were cool...they had originality to them (and sometimes a sweet motive), and who could resist a cute, little pink doggie?
^ ^;
I'm sorry but, I hated that cartoon, mainly because its pilot aired with three other cartoons and they had some kind of voting thing set up if memory serves. There was a much better, Ren and Stimpy-ish, cartoon but courage got chosen over it.
Now to get back on the topic of Video games. Does any one else remember Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat? I had both.
Street Fighter was a great game, but MK will always be my favorite. Looking back, spending so much time playing a game were you can rip your opponents heart out at the age of six is probably why I'm so creepy and voilent now. what ever, it was worth it.

Mortal Kombat was the best thing to hit the Genesis since Sonic! Who was the guy that threw his hat and chpped off peoples' heads?

I remember those tamagotchis! I got one in the summer after second grade. My family and I went to visit relatives and I played with it all the time on the plane and trains ^^;
