The Unofficial Official ChristmOMG A SOUTH PARK LAMP!

Postby Edduyasha » Sun Nov 18, 2007 11:13 pm

Thanksgiving is upon us in a few days, but the holidays are looming close! Come, sit around our BBS fireplace with my cookies and hot cocoa and tell us your plans, dreams, and aspirations for the coming holidays and Winter Break, whether it be Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwaanza, or New Year's!

:santa:

Eggnog, anyone?
Goodbye, cruel world...
I'm leaving you today
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye...

Goodbye, all you people
There's nothing you can say
To make me change my mind...
Goodbye...

This Thanksgiving, I’m celebrating my Family over my Grandma’s house to enjoy the great Holiday dinner. So I’ve haven’t planned anything on Thanksgiving when December 25th comes I’ll have a lot of contrives. :)

I remember this cell phone song from about two years ago. It would've been appropriate to call this the Christmahanukwanzakah Thread.

That's cool...family reunions are hard physically and emotionally for my family...so that's not happening anytime soon. We only get together once a year over the summer...

@ cheesypoofs857- Oh, that song? I've never really liked it...

Man, that just sticks in your head, doesn't it?

Mine, too!

We don't go out to see family members these days, not with all these dogs to look after, so they all come down here. There aren't many, but my bro just hooked up with a woman and is bringing her while other family members are here.

It'll be a packed place this Thanksgiving, I'll tell you that!

Let it be noted that I did not read this post when I changed the thread title. :) And I like my title better because it doesn't run into Edduyasha's name in the thread list.

Oooh, that's cool! Sometimes, family reunions are a bit tough on my emotions, though. I'm one of the younger family black sheep, and if my younger (and favorite at that age) cousin isn't around, they beat on me for-

- Being poor
- Being 'fat', even though everyone else I know said I was fine
- Being a Christian (they're all Buddhists)
- Being a metalhead
- Wanting to go into art rather than medicine/law/science

><

@ Big-Will- Yeah, I know...I suck at creating thread titles...

I've heard it does things to people...

Hmm...I hope this flu I have right now is the only one this season I'll get. Usually, I fall sick every year on or near my birthday; it's happened for the past 4-5 years. I think it's a curse...I hope I'll break the curse this year. We're going on a cruise to celebrate my birthday this year and I'll be pissed as Hell if it's ruined by me getting sick.

Well, I am most likely doing what I do every year..Spending Christmas with my parents at their house. And then coming home the day after Christmas and celebrating a little with my roommates..Should be fun..But, I am not looking forward to the next few weeks before Christmas..I work at Costco, so you can imagine what that is going to be like with all the holiday shoppers..And on my days off I will need to do Christmas shopping..

Black Friday and the holiday shopping season is never fun for retail workers...

><

I'm really frugal when it comes down to holiday presents...it's usually a Photoshop card for my friends and a box of Pocky for my closer friends, some handmade stuff for my family and boyfriend (but I'm getting a house phone for my boyfriend this year because his phone is really s*itty), and stuff like that. I don't get the hype and commercialism that goes into it at all...

In that case...well...oh, I dunno. My friends and I in Computer Graphics class are going to make the most ridiculous Photoshop Christmas cards ever this year...

Ah, Christmas; the most over-rated holiday on Earth. It's that special time of year when we get pestered with the same annoying carols, the same retarded movies and the same precipitous rise in gas prices. Seriously, has anyone written a new, legitimate Christmas carol in the last 50 years?

Every year we get to hear the same bullsh*t from religious people how "secular progressives" are trying to "take Jesus out of Christmas". If that's the case, then why is every church on the planet stuffed beyond what the fire code allows on Christmas morning? Jesus ain't goin' nowhere.

Then we get to hear everyone complain how "commercial" this holiday has become; like this year is somehow worse than the previous 30 years. Do people just forget how annoyed they were a year ago with all the advertisements and bastardizations of carols into jingles for cell phones and department stores?

The icing on the cake for the last decade or so has been the December advertising campaign for Lexus automobiles. You know the ones; some rich muthafucka surprises their trophy spouse or spoiled brat with a brand new luxury car that has a big f*ckin' bow on top. Anybody who actually does that should be forced to suck Santa's hairy balls.

But, oh, you can't say bad things about Christmas bullsh*t because that makes you Ebeneezer Scrooge. It doesn't matter that you're 100% right. If you don't sing along to the same damn carols and swipe that credit card, you must be a bad person.
