Does anyone know the name of that one Christmas song talking about how to say 'Merry Christmas' in Hawaiian? It's one of the few songs I can tolerate; it doesn't mention snow at all, for once.

I've been getting into Manheim Steamroller's stuff and some other work by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, both very good bands/orchestras. There's also that other song I really like...what was it... Snoopy's Christmas/Snoopy VS The Red Baron, I believe it was called. I'm such an oddball when it comes down to Christmas songs.

In other news...there's a ton of kids at school that want me to design a shirt saying Merry F*cking Christmas on it; they're all sick of the political correctness spreading around these days...that'll be fun.

Happy Hannukah, everyone!
Goodbye, cruel world...
I'm leaving you today
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye...

Goodbye, all you people
There's nothing you can say
To make me change my mind...
Goodbye...

Happy Hanukkah Day 3!

Mele Kalikimaka

Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say,
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day,
That's the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway,
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright,
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night,
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say "Merry Christmas to you."

From the land where palm trees sway,
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright,
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night,
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way
To say, "Merry Christmas,
A very Merry Christmas to you."

No problem. :) I got to know a few Hawaiians when I was younger and learned to play ukulele, even participated in a couple of luaus for summer camp (in Southern California). I used to have a song book for ukulele... oh well.

Seeing B-W's post with that Hawaiian Christmas song kinda inspires me to ask:

At one time, I posted a thread that asks what song or album you would just have to hear in order to make your holiday complete. Since then, we've had some new people come in, so let's kick that around some.

To prove to Edduyasha that she's not the only oddball, for me, it would be the '79 pairing of John Denver and the Muppets.

This album features Marlene Dietrich singing The Little Drummer Boy. That is a staple of family Christmas road trips around heah.

@Bug: I see it also has one by Tennessee Ernie Ford. My mother has the whole double-LP of his Christmas stuff from who-knows-when, and you just can't find it on CD anywhere. Not in this order, anyway.

I'll have to have her check the label's website.

One of these days...when I get decent at playing electric guitar, I think I'll get a bunch of my friends and their bands to record rock/metal/screamo covers of random Christmas songs. I can already hear O Holy Night's riffs in my head already. I think it'd be a nice break from the run-of-the-mill Christmas songs all over the radio.

I can't imagine a radio station around here playing a Christmas song.

Good to see all of y'all again, after my Internet cut-off.

^ One station here plays 'em 24/7 from Thanksgiving 'til Xmas, every year!

Other good ones on the family's lists:

"Thank God It's Christmas"--Queen
"Do They Know It's Christmas"--Band Aid

My mother likes "Wonderful Day" by the Chipmunks, my gf likes their "Chipmunk Song." AAAAAL-VIIIIIIIIIINNN!!

Picked up Lowen & Navarro's "At Long Last...Christmas" (2002), and despite the short running time--25 minutes?!!--it's still done really well, a beautiful mix of classic and new works from the two guitarist/songwriters.

Yay! You're back! I'm headed off to bed now, though...

We have three local stations playing Christmas songs 24/7 from Thanksgiving to Christmas...and we hardly get any other stations (that aren't in Spanish, hur, hur).

This thread is about holiday cheer, but Christmas sucks every year for me. Not about gifts, I can care less for gifts, out grown really. But the reason I hate it is because something always goes wrong around this time of year. This year money is an issue, and I am not afraid to say I am not that rich, and more towards poor, and thats why my Internet was cut-off.
