We're getting close to the end...

Postby angeldeb82 » Sun Dec 30, 2007 12:46 am

... of 2007, and very close to the first anniversary of the execution of Saddam Hussein, which was one more resaon for Americans to start the New Year and the end of 2006. BTW, I posted that song "All That I'm Living For" by Evansecence almost last year to signify his final hours, and now I can do it again.

All That I'm Living For
By Evanescence

All that I'm living for,
All that I'm dying for,
All that I can't ignore alone at night.

I can feel the night beginning.
Separate me from the living.
Understanding me,
After all I've seen.
Piecing every thought together,
Find the words to make me better.
If I only knew how to pull myself apart.

[Chorus]
All that I'm living for,
All that I'm dying for,
All that I can't ignore alone at night.
All that I'm wanted for,
Although I wanted more.
Lock the last open door, my ghosts are gaining on me.

I believe that dreams are sacred.
Take my darkest fears and play them
Like a lullabye,
Like a reason why.
Like a play of my obsessions,
Make me understand the lesson,
So I'll find myself,
So I won't be lost again.
[To Chorus

Guess I thought I had to change the world, to make you see me,
To be the one.
I could have run forever,
But how far would I have come
Without mourning your love?
[To Chorus]

Should it hurt to love you?
Should I feel like I do?
Should I lock the last open door,
My ghosts are gaining on me.

Next up... "Lose Control".

So were you surprised then about the hanging at the end of 2006?
Still the same as it ever was.

I'm back again. This time it's "Lose Control" by Evanescence, indicating that an execution happened a year ago today (or tomorrow), and an indicator of Saddam's death.

Lose Control
By Evanescence

You don't remember my name.
I don't really care.
Can we play the game your way?
Can I really lose control?

Just once in my life,
I think it would be nice,
Just to lose control, just once...
With all the pretty flowers in the dust.

Mary had a lamb,
His eyes black as coals.
If we play very quiet, my lamb,
Mary never has to know.

Just once in my life,
I think it would be nice,
Just to lose control, just once.

If I cut you down to a thing I can use,
I fear there'll be nothing good left of you.

I can feel it now: "MUQTADA! MUQTADA! MUQTADA!" :cartmanlaugh:

Did that camera phone footage of the execution freak you out?
Still the same as it ever was.

...The end, the end, the end, the end, the end, the end, eht ned, the end, then ed, the end, the end, the nde, the end, the end, the end...

Sorry, I was channeling the dirty-dead ghost of Jim Morrison on a substance induced stupor.

Almost an hour left until the first anniversary of the New Year's Eve pre-dawn funeral of Saddam Hussein. Here's another Evanescence song to remember it by.

Good Enough
By Evanescence

Under your spell again;
I can't say no to you.
Crave my heart, and it's bleeding in your hand.
I can't say no to you.

Shouldn't have let you torture me so sweetly.
Now I can't let go of this dream;
I can't breathe, but I feel...

Good enough.
I feel good enough for you.

Drink up sweet decadence;
I can't say no to you.
And I've completely lost myself,
And I don't mind.
I can't say no to you.

Shouldn't have let you conquer me completely.
Now I can't let go of this dream;
Can't believe that I feel...

Good enough.
I feel good enough.
It's been such a long time coming,
But I feel good.

And I'm still waiting for the rain to fall,
Pour real life down on me.
'Cause I can't hold on to anything this good enough.
Am I good enough
For you to love me too?

So take care what you ask of me,
'Cause I can't say no.
Still the same as it ever was.

Actually, when it comes to the anniversary of Saddam's execution, I prefer the Ren & Stimpy hanging song.

Ohhhhh, Lord loves a-hangin',
That's why he gave us necks.
They tightens up your vocal chords
And loosens up our pecs.
So, if you are a horse thief
And guilty to the bone,
Go ahead and blame a friend
And you won't hang alone.

It may be hard to swaller,
But you'll be three feet taller
And find new ways to entertain your friends.
Say you are a villain,
But terrified about killin',
Go ahead and steal yourself a horse.

...2-3-11-R-5-Hit it, boys.

I'm a-pickin' (an' I'm a-swingin'!)
I'm ignorant (an' I'm ugly!)

Stimpy: That you are, boys.

Ohhhhh, Lord loves a-hangin'
And so do we, by heck,
So get yourself a lasso
And decorate your neck.
Oh, we is awful ignorant
And uglier than sin,
So go ahead and cut us dooooooooooooooown...
And hang us all again!

Hangin', that is. Swing a spell.
Y'all bring the kids now, y'hear?

YEEEEEEEE-Haaaaaaaah!!!

As for the end of this year, not sure what to make of it; it went by too doggone fast for me.
