Yeah, that surprised me too.

And, I changed the thread title so that all celebrity death news goes here. We don't need a thread for every death that occurs. Thank you in advance.

Good idea, BW.

Let's see, who else was there so far this year?

I know there was one earlier this week. If you know about Bob Newhart (no, he's still around), one of his co-stars, Suzanne Pleschette, had died recently. She was 70, and had battled cancer.

When I heard about Heath Ledger I was shocked. To die at 28... f*ck. And The Dark Knight was to open this summer... he's playing the part of the Joker.

^ Oh, shxt, that's right!! I knew I recognized that name, but couldn't remember where!

All I read about him was his role in "Brokeback Mountain," but I never saw it.

Yes, he did finish his part in The Dark Knight. The film might be held back a year, though - might not be prudent airing it so soon after his death.

Just heard about it this morning. I saw the headline on Yahoo News, and was confused and shocked about it. And sure enough, there were reports all over about the death.

And what sickens me in relation to the news is that apparently the Phelps clan is already planning to spread their usual hatred in response to Ledger having acted in "Brokeback Mountain" -_-

As for the Dark Knight, that was completed, though there was another film he had a role in that's now uncertain *name escapes me at the moment*.

The news still feels pretty shocking and surreal...:(

Yes, especially because he's the last person you'd expect for that happen to.

God, it's just shocking that Heath Ledger died. He was in his twenties and had the rest of his life to look forward to for f*cks sakes! His death has got to be an accident. There is no way in hell that someone, with a movie soon to be released and another one in the works, kills himself for no specific reason.

I am going to miss him. I can't wait till The Dark Knight is released even though his portrayal of The Joker is going to give me nightmares for ages.

Rest in peace. :(
Still the same as it ever was.
