^ That took me by surprise, too.
Yes, the band had its share of being the butt of many jokes, but they had some good stuff in their time. My folks have the ABBA Gold CD.
And somewhere in SP, Wing is singing "Dancing Queen" in tribute.

Here's another death:
"Hogan's Heroes" Actor Ivan Dixon Dies
Such a loss last Saturday. We'll miss him.
Or is this already discussed?

Remember Paul Scofield, the guy who did St. Thomas More in the film A Man For All Seasons? Well, he passed away yesterday. May God rest his soul in peace. Here's the link: http://movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=306234>1=7701

Re: Celebrity Death Thread 2008
Apparently, there was also a burial for author Arthur C. Clarke, famous for "2001: A Space Odyssey," this past Saturday. And yet no one mentioned this at the convention I was at this past weekend...not that I know of.

I think I might have missed out on a few, but actor Charlton Heston (The Ten Commandments and Ben-Hur) passed away last night. It's so sad that we'll miss him dearly.

Also, Stanley Kamel, the guy who did Dr. Charles Kroger on Monk, passed away yesterday, some say of a heart attack. It's so sad we'll miss him dearly.

Surprised no one mentioned Charleton Heston in this thread yet. He died this week.
That puts me behind in my dead pool.

Triplemultiplex, I already mentioned Charlton Heston a few days ago. Didn't you see it? Here's my quote to prove it:

Original Walt Disney animator Ollie Johnston dies at 95
Ollie Johnston, the last of the "Nine Old Men" who animated "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," "Fantasia," "Bambi" and other classic Walt Disney films has died. He was 95.
...Snow White was the first (in theater) movie my parents ever took me to.

A guitarist for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, Danny Federici, died last night. How sad.
