Florida, nothing to see since 1513, unless you count Disney World, but that's certainly overrated :P

I've lived here and nowhere else (aside from moving from one town in this state to another when I was around six) for nearly 20 years, and blegh. I feel 'rooted' to it, yet I've got this sense of 'meh' about the place. The heat is unbearable @_@. People find it odd when I'm all "OOH COLD!" when they talk about how cold it is up north, and how I act all interested in their "boring northerner states".

Really, I can understand their view, especially if they've lived in those states for so long that they're like "No, nothing's special here, damn it!" like me. But then people are all "FLORIDA, OOH" and I'm like "IT'S NOT THAT GREAT D:" as they are like their northern states.

I won't deny that there are some nice places around here, but the town I happen to live in is rather dull, and other spots in Florida that I've been to haven't been all that special, other than the rare excitement of "OMG ORLANDO", which was last experienced back in '04 (when I went to Universal). I've kind of tired out of theme parks, though. Hearing the stuff I've heard about Clearwater has made me kinda freaked out about going around that area again (Scientology watchdog-city, apparently. Though the last time I went there was 2000 as a kid, long before I knew about the Scientology connection, and the most notable thing I remember was seeing SO MANY TITTY BARS around the place!.

Fort DeSoto is quite nice, though, along with some of the other historical areas around the state. I've rarely been down to Miami, but it looks pretty damn huge from the little I've seen (Downtown itself looks massive), so one could probably get lost down there.

The trouble in moving would be thinking of where and when to move someplace, plus, the whole 'rooted'/clingy thing (even though I'm also tired of the place XD).

Cerisa_Roz: I couldn't have said it better myself. There's just old people, swamp, and hot and humid weather. Disgusting. The only thing Orlando is good for is the gynormous Chinese grocery store that I go to for food each month.

Miami (as far as I know after my family drove through) looks like a wannabe New York City, but hotter and humider. Too bad it's such a long drive from where I am; it's the closest I am to a decent big city.

The foreclosure and crime rates aren't so stellar, either.

Well, I was born in Mount Vernon Wa, and grew up in the town of Concrete WA, a town that truely deserves the title of Satan's assh*le. I lived there until about two years ago, then I moved to Sedro Woolley WA which was a little better. And two weeks ago, I moved to Bellingham WA and I finally live in an actual city. It is awesome here, there are more things to do, there aren't stupid narrow minded hicks everywhere, and I already know a lot of people here.
