Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Postby Loserbait » Thu Apr 17, 2008 1:31 pm

The movie had some funny moments (not many) and most were from gross-out humour. Definitely nowhere near as good as Superbad.

The lead actor was great through most of the film but there were times when I wanted to punch him.
Mila Kunis had a small-ish role but did a really great job in it.
The new boyfriend, Aldous, was funny at the start but his sex jokes grew old way too fast.

And, miss Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell) is just stunning. As each scene passed, her beauty grew exponentially (except the last scene. In fact, that was way too anti-climactic... I was expecting a better final scene with her...).

The story was good but some of the events were just poorly scripted out.
And the editing was painful... They'd throw in random sh*t that just didn't go well with what was going on... I mean, I know a lot of it was improv but still...

Overall: 6/10. Kristen Bell is stunning.

Pretty much exactly what I expected to hear about it. Looks like a 6/10 movie.

Superbad was last years movie Jesus, though.

Jason Segel wrote the thing based on events that happened in his life. (I saw an interview with him on Nightline.) He said there was even a point where he tried to woo her back by talk-singing a classic '60's love song to her, but she just pitied him. When he tried to include that in the script, he was told that it wasn't realistic enough.
I tried to find the video of the interview, but it doesn't seem to be up.
I really only want to go see it because Mila and Kristen make my pants go crazy.
