"War. War never changes…
Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything from God, to justice, to simple psychotic rage.
The Romans waged war to gather slaves and wealth. Spain built an empire from its lust for gold and territory. Hitler shaped a battered Germany into an economic superpower.
In the 1950s, we dreamed of a better world with clean fusion-powered cars, robots that walked the dawn, peaceful existence, thanks to the wonders of science. We were close to achieving that dream.
But in the twenty-first century, war was still waged over the resources that could be acquired. Only this time, the spoils of war were also its weapons: petroleum and uranium. For these resources, China would invade Alaska, the United States would annex Canada, and European Commonwealth would dissolve into quarreling, bickering nation-states, bent on controlling on the last remaining resources on Earth. The reasons, as always, purely human ones.
In the year 2077, after millennia of armed conflict, the destructive nature of man could sustain itself no longer and the storm of world war had come again. Nuclear weapons were used without precaution. It was the Great War. The earth was nearly wiped clean of life. A great cleansing, an atomic spark struck by human hands quickly raged out of control. Spears of nuclear fire rained from the skies. Continents were swallowed in flames and sunk beneath the boiling oceans. Humanity was almost extinguished, their spirits becoming part of the background radiation that blanketed the earth. A quiet darkness fell across the land, lasting many years.
But it was not has some had predicted to be the end of the world. Instead the apocalypse was simply the prologue to yet another bloody chapter of human history. For man had succeeded in destroying the world - but war, war never changes.
In the early days, thousands were spared from the horrors of the holocaust by taking refuge in enormous underground shelters, known as vaults. When the great darkness passed in the year 2184, the vaults reopened and the inhabitants emerged to begin their lives again in what was once there home. It was now The Wasteland. No order, no law, only survival. They set out across the ruins of the old world to build new societies, established new villages, and form new tribes."

Prefer FP adventures like Half life, Elder Scrolls and Metroid but if i need a FPS i'll go for DOOM. I like playing it online on computer no lag with those graphics.
AND BY THE WAY, I WIN

I think Resistance is awesome and I can't wait for Resistance 3 to come out. Although I do think they should've used the song Maybe by the Ink Spots in Resistance: Fall of Man during the credits. Or some song from the era it's set in. The song really fits.

My favorite fps of all time is and always will be Halo: Combat Evolved. The sequels (and prequel) are great, but the original is still the best. It redefined shooters, had a great soundtrack, great multiplayer (Blood Gulch 4eva!!!) and one of the best campaigns I have ever played. It also has my favorite cutscene from a video game ever.

I'm actually a big fan of Team Fortress 2. If you haven't played it, and you own Steam, you should, as it's great fun and now free.
