but there is a good chance i'll be getting some replacements in a week or two though... i'll also be getting a manager, but because of him, we're probably going to have to drop the death song...

I've got no luck thus far either. I'm a guitarist/vocalist but I'm not terribly great at either, but I've got no one else willing to collaborate with me. I'm looking more into a progressive/power metal thing going on... I've got some stuff written, but no recording gear or anyone else to play the other instruments.

Drop the Death song? f*ck that! I would love to play sh*t by Chuck! I also love playing Hallowed Be Thy Name and Paranoid, but my personal fav by Sabbath is Children of the Grave. :P

Dude, I'd totally be on that project! From what I know we both got some pretty damn similar tastes... :P

Anyway, how bout some Morbid Angel? Trey Azagoroth (sp?) is my fav death metal shredder at the moment:

OH YES PLZ! Where are you, though? I'm kind of.. in the middle of the US somewhere, heh. Distance might be an issue, but if you wanted/were able to, we could totally meet up sometime and jam! I'd love that.

To keep on-topic, though, have some Sonata Arctica:

The Vice

Weird song lyrically, but oh MAN, does it rock. ^^

and i LOVE morbid angel! and i have seen the vid with phil on vocals before, and i liked it!

also, i'm writing a prog death song wright now... and my uncle has a recording studio... which is good for me!

I live in f*cking Arizona! God, does that suck: not only do we not get any good bands to play over here, but there's seldom someone who's got any similar tastes as moh.

VERY NICE SONG! Sonata Arctica's a fav. :P

Ohhh, suckage! I'm in Kansas. D: Not many people here who have the same music taste as me, either. That's probably why symphonic metal bands hardly come here.. >< Sigh.

And yeshh, Sonata is a favourite of mine as well. :D Stovey, Brandon (offline friend) and I saw them in September at the House of Blues in Chicago. HoB sucks ass because they're notorious for only allowing bands to play a very short set list, but at least I was able to see them perform something. And Don't Say A Word ROCKED. ^^

so...

What do you people think of opeth? i am trying to decide whether to get them on my ipod or not... i like progressive death metal, but they have allot of slow songs (which i don't want right now). I heard three heavy songs by them, and the other ten i heard were slow, and the itunes 30 second previews don't help...

if you like prog death metal you can try Atheist, Cynic, Theory in Practice, Carbonized - first 2 albums (sweden), but for the love of Jesus/God/Satan,etc don't try to like bands like Opeth. If you are stubborn, you can try to listen a few songs from them, but that's all. STAY AWAY FROM sh*tty BANDS !!

Yeah... i liked one song out of the 15 i listened to... they are kind of boring, they growl sometimes, but it's not really death metal! I was surprised because Mikael's other band "Bloodbath" is an amazing death metal band!

i looked at them because the lead singer of a band i like is in opeth... here is the band

do you like slow stuff? some doom stuff? you know... 2 band members from Opeth/Bloodbath are also in Katatonia, a death/doom group (in the begining).

Gateways of Bereavement - Katatonia

anyway... I don't like Katatonia that much, for the death/doom metal I prefer some Paradise Lost, Anathema, My Dying Bride or some early Cathedral stuff.
