That's the problem. I did. It happens with, or without the updates. With or without the newest drivers from NVIDIA....
I made myself a custom CD anyway. It installs XP with SlanXP as the default theme.

(This isn't my PC, I wouldn't get a cat on my background. It is to show you the theme, I Googled it.

Re: Computer discussion thread
While the OS hasn't bothered me at all, the huge change that occurred to the MS Office programs was really hard to get used to. Especially when I go between using the "classic" versions at work and the new version at home. Literally a lifetime of experience with the layout of Word and Excel went mostly out the window (oop, accidental pun).
You read it! You can't unread it!
Re: Computer discussion thread
Instead they focused on looks, and a new layout. This took away from time to make it stable and speed it up. Result? Well, use Vista and see.

Slow, less stable, and hard to find sh*t that you used to use in XP. It's not that it's gone, it's that MS decided to move it for some reason. And NOT for the better. It's harder to find for a beginner...
That is why I am still using XP with Vista's icons for looks, and a custom theme to further the cosmetics. The result is this:

I really dont want to install it due to the fact all my software is not supported. Hardware also.

50.02 Mb/s-download
5.36 Mb/s-upload
I think the internet I had was at the most .5 Mb/s download, .03 upload, but don't count me on that.... I'll have to run the test again when I get there. But the difference is noticeable.
