What is your favorite scary movie?

Ugh, mine are so vanilla. Ghost Ship, The Tremors trillagee (4 doesn't count imo), Christine, and I suppose Gremlins (1 and 2) could fall into that category.

Re: What is your favorite scary movie?
My new personel favorite is tied with The Shining but most
horror fans are aware that recently on oct 6th after a promise
of an 2007th release date Trick`r Treat was released and
I just got my copy in the mail about 6 days ago but due to
a family emergency I finally got to watch it and have to
suggest that if you're interested in seeing this film you
may have to wait a little due to the wait and hype behind
it,it was completely sold out at every chain store and video
store in my area. which is why I am glad I decided too
pre-order it a two months ago. Also do not I repeat do not
read any spoilers or even talk to anyone who may give
away story details. But it is an anthology of four stories
intertwined by a character named Sam along with some
characters appearing within other stories so it's not done
like the meteor shower trilogy but you may see character a
's story start then character b will appear and rather than
getting A's story finished character B's will start and you'll
return to A's story usually by the middle of B's so it's not
going to be told as story1,2,3,4 like creepshow or the
twilight zone movie. I hope I haven't confused any one but
it was the most original horror film in a long time the acting
by the children's story isn't to bad and it showed you don't
need a lot of gore either the closest to a spoiler that I will
give you is a warning that kids die in the film so if you're
senseitive it may not be for you 5/5.

Just the concept and the leading role are so scary, I didn't even see it.

Cannibal Holocaust
Or for a more humorous "scary" movie, "Andre the Butcher"

I still haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust. I probably should at some point.

Re: What is your favorite scary movie?
You should it's one of my most favorite movies, but be warned, it's pretty f*cked up.

When was it released? That title sounds so familiar but
I can't put my finger on where I've heard that name before?

My favourite scary movie is Alien (1979). When I first saw it as a kid I was really scared in a fun way. Great movie.

Oh I know it is f*cked up...I post a horror message board, some of my friends wrote about it, and some of the more f*cked up things in it.
I found a copy of Stephen Kings' "The Storm of the Century" on dvd at Goodwill tonight. It was only 4 dollars. I am watching it right now.

Now I remember when I saw this, about a year ago my uncle
lent me a copy and telling me most of the controversy behind
it. Before I saw it I thought he was just exagerating the stories
so it would add to more shock value, by the time it was over
my jaw was still open and that anything like that could be
released shocked me. Now that I remember it EVERY horror
film seems candy coated and hardly compares to it in terms
of violence.
So now I am at a 3 way tie for which is my favorite horror film
the titles now being Cannibal Halocaust , The Shining
and Trick` r Treat.

Aw, you know what a really awful one was? Ice Cream Man
Of course, I only saw it on TV, so it was probably edited into a much shittier production that it was. Still though,
gaw.

Re: What is your favorite scary movie?
LOL...I have never actually seen The Ice Cream Man, but I have seen it at the video store...When I was probably renting a much better horror film. I do like horror/comedies, and some stuff by Troma, but The Ice Cream Man didn't really look like a horror movie that would be funny...It just looked stupid, and if it actually was worth watching, I probably would have heard about it on a message board by now.
