Who do you think are the most evil corporations?

Postby nwt000 » Thu Oct 15, 2009 9:36 pm

I would have to say Disney, McDonald's, Wal-Mart, Monsanto, and sadly for South Park, Viacom, Comedy Central's parent corporation. Oh, and who can forget Haliburton? Share your opinion on this controversial right here!

Because crporations have to make profit and have lots of political power it depends on how much the company profits from said corruption etc.

Greed for profits drive corporations. That is Capitalism. I have nothing against it unless it effects a person's ability to live.

So, health insurance companies are the evilest.

Others, like Starbucks, are just greedy. Meh, so what. People like it, let them drink there. :)

It really goes their are factors going their it depends on how much the company has to gain how evil they are.
If you can make cut’s in their gains, then you cappable of making companies be good if you increase their potential gains they go… evil.
Shell is one of the most evil corporations out their ARRRRRRRRGGGGGH.
Peh what do this companies get no liablities essentially they should be fined a thousand times the fines they get currently we’re not even adding a small dent in their pocket for major incidents!, Preventable incidents to make it wourse. Preventable incidents that were unnecisary to begin with do they have to be in anyway liable oh no corporation get to do what ever they want :x . So in the end yes I blame the legal system this is like giving a gang member 1 day for killing a man and an ordinary citizen a year for killing a man.
at the end I think the problem is we have quite a number of good things maybe over looked that we don't have in some “ideal” models of the past granted who cares really… the thing is that we have a system that isn't designed to create moral individuals. well realtively to the third reich[or empire] it creates moral individuals. but is that good enough?,
over all what you need to do is disincentivise crime and such immoral acts how do you do it?
upping the anti creating proportional penalities getting governments to sue companies on behalf of ordinary citizens creating pentalities for accepting bribes. etc.

What if a corporation giving money to certain organizations hinders or dictates the way people live, like what one corporation has done with the fucktards who put question 1 in Maine's 2009 referendum ballot? They've already dealt a major blow to California's gay population. I have a few gay friends myself and I'd hate to see them stripped of such a basic human right because some stupid corporation put their money in the wrong f*cking hands.

Their all far from the worst corporations from harming children to entire communities their children and all future generations.
acting against science etc.
oil companies and big suppermarket chains.
The problem really is corporations if you have to put it into a phew words.
End the corporate problem create a system by which you don't demand them to be profitable or you demand them to be ethical.
my view it’s entire cartels in nikie for sweat shop coke sweet shop,
shell, destruction of communities selling peoples futures, acting against science,
other oil companies dong the same.
Tooo many state size corporations.
Corporation is already a very precipices and specific word with a specific definition.

Companies also need to be regulated. like all centers of undue power.

I would say Walmart, based on the fact that I know people who work there, and they can tell me that they don't get treated very well.

Good example and an even better point.
In this case it’s really a good point,, Yes what about such casses?
what if their funding people who negatively effect someone elses ability to live?
or what if their business is to get people to limit their own ability to live?
a phew cases, frther more employees and so forth.
the degree of willingness or indirectness rarely drops to the absolute zero, but they may often drop bellow relative zero.

Wal-Mart's got nothing on:

Insurance companies; all of them no matter what they're insuring.
Credit card companies: legalized loan sharking
Wall Street-type companies that create artificial wealth while contributing nothing of value to the economy. Then when they're schemes fall apart they get money from the government to keep on doing what they're doing.

DeBeers. They manufactured demand for a certain shiny pebble in western culture over a century ago as part of martial rituals. For the next hundred years they consolidated a monopoly in the industry, enslaved entire countries in Africa and devastated the environment all while reaping monstrous profits. Remember Apartheid? That was DeBeers doing. Their monopoly was only broken by the discovery of new diamond deposits in Canada in the early 90's. To this day there are still legitimate concerns about DeBeers dealing in blood diamonds; hence that movie.

Wow up their with shell I f*cking hate shell the ways it’s going shell is pretty much guilty for enough things and does it ever get in any trouble answer is incase you don't know No.
The trouble it does get into is nothing compared to what it is earning it is in every sense of the word the cost of doing business.
it probably won't ever be cheaper for them to do business then their law suits anyway so why bother they probably spend millions anyway and then… oh here we give a fine of a fraciton of the ammount of money you expected us to sue for and then… we let you settle this fine out of court so you have to pay less money……
and so forth. okay… so once is shrinks in this comedy down to less then a thousanth of the money they deserve to be sued for it’s like they only deserve this much I am so angry at them I could as well throw them of why aren't they completly blocked? eH??— I think such companies should never do business ever again.
Blood diamonds also piss me of.

evil corporations - the problem is trying to essentially reduce their power or regulate their power/make it more specialised.

Can't forget to include Blackwater (or "Xi" as they are now called) and any other private military contractor.

The very concept of a private mercenary army is evil. Making money by killing people? That's like James Bond villain sh*t. Especially with that guy from Blackwater who's also this fundamentalist uber-Christian imperialist who thinks he's on some crusade to beat up Muslims so Jesus will come back and be his pal.
