Sometimes I think liking songs of past eras has a lot to do with the quaintness of the time, in some cases almost as much as the song in its own right.

All right, that does it! I haven't heard this one for YEARS, and for some reason, it just popped back into my head a few days ago.

I woke up with this song in my head this morning...
Thunder Island - Jay Ferguson
Actually, I had the techno version in my head, but I haven't found it yet.

I had to look for this thread so I can post something you guys might enjoy.

Off of the 1974 album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (The last studio album to feature Peter Gabriel as a member of the band, here's Genesis with the following three songs (they're about nine and a half minutes long end to end): "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway," "Fly on a Windshield," and "Broadway Melody of 1974."

You can't put a '70s thread on a South Park site without referring to one of Cartman's best songs:

I prefer Cartman's version better, really.

Another song from the Genesis album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. This one's called "The Colony of Slippermen" so, uh, yeah. It's still a good song though.
