Yes, this is the season for specialties at eating/drinking places. It would be nice to have special things at other times of the year. Today, for example, I went to a restaurant for breakfast and I had both pumpkin pancakes and pumpkin muffins :yum:

They said they're only available at their restaurant from October 15 though November 30th. They were delicious! I should have taken a pic of the food.

Backing up to Halloween, I just found some Cadbury's Scream Eggs, Twix Ghosts, and White Chocolate Candy Corn M&M's on clearance at CVS. Yum, Yum, and eugh. The M&M's just tasted like white chocolate. (which isn't technically chocolate. it's candy) I used to really, really love white chocolate. These days, I only prefer it when it's coating a salty pretzel, or coating a really dark chocolate truffle.

And Thanksgiving :)

And for Jews (like me), Hanukah!

Speaking of Halloween, there is so much pumpkin still around I can't believe all the items in restaurants these days that contain pumpkin. I already posted about some food items I saw and ate in restaurants. Tonight, for example, at an Italian restaurant, I had pumpkin lasagna. 8)

Commercial interests have killed the spirit of Christmas, in the pursuit of profit, by replacing it need to give gifts because it's so necessary, and not to Express his attention, love and respect.

By the way, Thanksgiving is celebrated in the last week of November?

Yes, February 2.

Traditional folklore says that when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on February 2 and if it's cloudy, the groundhog will not be able to see it's shadow so spring will come early.

If it is sunny, the groundhog will see it's shadow and go back into its burrow, and winter will be here for six more weeks.

The most famous celebration in America is in the State of Pennsylvania, in the city of: Punxsutawney. Punxsutawney is 84 miles (135 km) northeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The name of the groundhog is: Punxsutawney Phil. Here is what happened yesterday, February 2:

And thus ends the holiday season. Of course, we have even more holidays in Winter and Spring:

Valentine's Day
Mardi Gras
St. Patrick's Day
Easter (and Holy Week before it)
Cinco De Mayo
Mother's Day
Memorial Day
Father's Day

Yes, winter will still be six weeks. It seems to me or groundhog looked extremely dissatisfied and a little frightened?
