Hmm...it was between Avenged Sevenfold, Dragonforce, or System of a Down for me. I chose SOAD because I like more of their songs...but those three are great bands.

No contest... SOAD for me. Dragonforce are good technical musicians, but not much else. A7X can make some good songs, but System are just cool, fun, wacky, thrash metallers. Toxicity is one my favorite albums ever.

Is "metallers" a word?

Tell you the truth, I only recognize three or four of the bands there, and SOAD is probably the one I've heard more of. Not much into ICP, but their cover of "Let's Go All the Way" is one I find humorous.

As for current bands of these genres, the one I really got to like is Billy Talent. During a hockey game on TV last week, they played "Red Flag." Like it!

No Contest, SOAD is cool and their music is great, but Slipknot is by far my personal favorite. Corey Taylor is pure genius!

SOAD, Dragonforce, and A7X are good, but the others aren't. Nu metal = t3h sux. =|
