I noticed Stan & Wendy are less close.

But then again, Matt and Trey rarely use female characters to begin with, my guess being a mix of the fact they are both male, along with the other South Park writers (There's actually I believe four additional people in the writing room, but they don't contribute. The only ones I remember right now are Vernon Chatman and Robert Poppler. Names may be mispelled.) and the fact April Stewart usually doesn't record her lines until the final day of episode preparation as seen in both "Six Days to South Park" docs.

Wendy's usually used to drive a plot point i.e. "Insheeption"

But I'm a huge Wendy fan regardless

I feel as though Parker and Stone fundamentally understand the responsibility of sending a positive message. It's obvious to tell the difference between the jokes at the expense of those who need to be "entertained" and the jokes to those who are attracted to SP for the profound but down-to-earth message they attempt to bring.

Which is why I am surprised that Stan even ever had a gf.
