I love you Will :)

And also that Tom Cruise is a fag. That was a pretty big part of the episode, too. Like... half of it.

Certainly. Although Matt last week amusingly said they submitted 'Trapped in the Closet' for the Emmys "just... to be dicks".

"South Park" - Life Without Fear
"Trapped in the Closet" was never repeated - but it will be this coming Wednesday, and it WILL end up on a DVD. Both Parker and Stone tried to stay away from the controversy since they loathe Cruise so much - getting involved in it meant having "that Tom Cruise stink."

Because Parker and Stone were annoyed with Comedy Central at the time for not rerunning it, they decided that episode would be the one they submitted for Emmy consideration. "We just did it to be dicks, really," Stone said. Of course, it got nominated.

This entire city, except for Scientologists, obviously, was like, 'Yeah, go, go. Get 'em, get 'em, get 'em,'" Parker said.

But there was more fall out. Isaac Hayes, who played "Chef" on the series, went to Parker and Stone and objected to the episode - because he's a Scientologist - and asked them not to do the episode or have it appear on a DVD. They got in an argument, then thought it was over. Until Hayes or his people put out a press release that said Parker and Stone were bigots.

"It was so crazy because we got along so well," Parker said. "And that's where we were like, 'Wow, you really thought the show was fine until we did your religion, and now we're bigots.' So that's why then we were like, 'Okay, game on, motherf-er."

The "South Park" creators also found themselves - even still - in the middle of the "cartoon wars" controversy, where they weren't allowed to use a picture of Mohammad, for (corporate) fear of a Muslim backlash. Comedy Central refused to budge, so the episode ran with the picture blacked out - and will run that way on the DVD.

It still annoys the duo and they let it be known in front of the Comedy Central executives (who knew this would happen and deserve credit for standing there and taking it).

Even in less politically dangerous waters, Stone and Parker show no fear. Recent "South Park" episodes have made fun of "Family Guy" on Fox, mocking the animated series as being lame. Of course, that's considered bad form in the business.

"What I can tell you that was pretty interesting was the day after that episode aired, we got flowers from 'The Simpsons,'" Parker said. "We got calls from 'King of the Hill' saying we were doing God's work. It's not just our opinion."
