Re-Release of BLU?

Postby Alfred E. Neuman » Sat Feb 03, 2007 12:54 am

I know the chances are very slim for a sequel (for at least the TV show is in production) but how about a re-release of the movie to theaters?

Yeah, a re-release would be good, because I think the majority of the south park fans today haven't seen it in theaters at all. I've seen it air at some college screening, but that sucked ass.

Imagine, hearing uncle f*cker in the theather, man what I would give to have that moment.

You think Comedy Cetral would do that.
I bet if they did do that they'll make around $100 million for it.

Comedy Central would certantly make a huge chunk of change if they did a re-release of BLU.
I wish they would. I was too young to go to see it when it first came out, but I would LOVE to see it in the movie theaters. :)
Ok, who stold my stuff...?

I'm in the same boat as you.
As I remember I was going to see it but I was like around 9 and my parents banned me from the movie (and the TV show) untill early this year because of the R rating so....

f*ck THE MPAA
f*ck THE TV RATINGS

Probably not. It barely made $50 million when it came out eight years ago, and films don't make as much on re-release as they did originally (especially now that you can see the movie on Comedy Central, buy it off iTunes and Wal*Mart, or torrent it).

I was only around 8 years when South Park the Movie was in theaters. My older brother went to see it though. God, I wish I could have just came along.

A re-release could bring in some new fans, but like 'Kenny Da King' I'd love to hear Uncle F*cker played in a theater.

Some theaters might show it as the midnight movie, but I don't know about a re-release.
I've been wanting to talk with someone about showing it at the Inwood in Dallas, but I don't even know really where to start on that.

It would certainly give those of us who missed out on seeing BLU in theaters a chance to see it like we never have.

They re-aired Bevis & Butthead Do America in theaters like two years after the original release, I remember. The only movie I've been to twice, incidently.

actually no, South Park was more popular than ever by the time the movie came out. The first season was when they got their highest ratings ever.

You are wrong. It had more fans at the end of season 1 and the beginning of season 2 than it's had since - 5 to 6 million viewers per ep. It's been getting 3 to 3.5 million viewers per ep for the past four seasons now.
