Cartman used to be a huge draw for me as did all the kid characters becuase they had the innocence of kids but occasionally rattled off a curse word. It was the fact that they were and acted like kids that made the situations funny. Now Cartman is talking like a grown up, the kids are like adults, using big words, the voices have changed a lot as well. Go back and watch an episode from season four or six. Cartmans voice was rougher and not so intelligent sounding. That was funny. There is no Cartman begging or flipping out, the adults are funny acting anymore because it has all been clouded by the desire for a deeper story. The early episodes weren't about that crap, just hilarious toilet humor and stupid acting adults that we could all relate to...especially randy. Bring back the little things!!!!

Edit:

Quoted before I could go back and delete.

The topic has been done to death. I reacted when I should have just ignored it. Let's just forget my involvement here.

I agree with PT. It's hiatus. No one cares anymore.

Also, there's already a thread with this EXACT title.

Once you've been here for several months and have seen this topic posted over and over again in regard to the current half-season (whichever season it happens to be), you'll understand why I reacted this way.

But, yeah, I do talk like that but only when I feel like pulling my hair out.

I agree with this thread almost completely I too have all the season's up to 10 & listended to the commentaries. I have'nt watched all the episode past season 10 but the ones I have lacked any great creativity. Don't get me wrong I like some of the offshore adventures but the great SP episodes I think everyone will agree takes place in South Park.

I honestly believe Matt & Trey are really running low on good storylines so their trying to replace them with recent trends & better animation it simply doesn't cut it for me.

Has South Park changed throughout the years? Yes. Is it a bad thing? No, I don’t think so. South Park has changed because it has matured. As Trey and Matt grew up and matured so did South park. I believe this is a good thing because we get to grow up along side it. We are not as young as we were when we first started watching so I think a little maturing is a good thing. Fart jokes and crude humor alone wasn’t going to make us laugh forever, we need a little substance. Even if it did stay about those fart jokes, wouldn’t someone also be complaining about it still being the same after all these years? The thing is, that there will always be someone that is going to be unhappy, it impossible to please absolutely everyone. I love all seasons of South Park, the old and the new. Sure, I don’t think that all the episodes are my favorite and made of gold but goes with everything, but I can appreciate them all. If some people can’t take maturity and substance along with their anal probes then just let them.

Yea! The show has gotten worse! How dare Matt and Trey not be as creative as they were when they were in their mid twenties and only just starting off the show!

Seriously, I'd like to see anyone else try to have every episode as new, original, and funny as it was 13 years and 200 episodes before.
