What are they parodying? i thought it was 28 days later since of the monkey, but it seems too different. So does anyone know what they are making fun of?

I think it was a parody partly of 28 Days Later, partly of 2012, and just a little bit of the Poseidon Adventure remake (Kurt Russell had to hold his breath and dive down to a flooded level of the ship in order to open a critical valve).

Of course, aside from the movie parodies, it was also satirizing a certain segment of American conservatives who obsess about the "browning" of America and act like white people are an endangered species.
