Kyle's Voice

Postby scht101 » Sat Nov 21, 2009 5:55 pm

I found something interesting. If you lower the pitch of Kyle's voice, he sounds exactly like Gerald (his dad), both of which are voiced by Matt Stone.

If you have Realtek HD Audio Manager on your computer, go to Karaoke and lower the pitch to -3.

well that WOULD make sense, now wouldn't it?
This is my signature. I made it small so anyone who tries to read it has to copy and paste the text somewhere else only to find that it isn't interesting at all. Congratulations. Also, fuckshitcockassbitchtitspenisfagskankwhorecuntpoop.

Not for everyone because some people might think Matt uses a completely different voice for Kyle and Gerald, when in fact the same voice is used with the pitch altered.

Sounds fun to do when a character has the same voice actor with the other character :o

You can hear a perfect example if you play the How Was It clip of Imaginationland Part I in a lower pitch.

There's this vid on youtube from Baseketball where Trey imitates Cartman's voice. Everybody is like 'TREY CHANGES HIS VOICE IF HE DOES CARTMAN'S VOICE!'. No retards, Realtek HD Audio Manager does it. :P
Oh hi. So, how are you holding up? Because I'm a potato.

Oh, Trey can do it without pitch-shifting. He's done it in interviews as well as in BASEketball.

It stands to reason that if Kyle sounds like Gerald, Stan should sound like Randy.

Wow, respect for the guy. But he probably can't use it for 21 minutes. :P

The line in Baseketball would be considerably off model for the show these days. It fit well back in the early years, though.

That'd make a lot of sense in the "real South Park 'verse" too. There are lots of kids who sound like their dads when they grow up. Just off the top of my head, there's uh... well me and Dad, (people have trouble telling us apart on the phone) and then there's Dick and Barry Van Dyke. That's all I can think of right now.

I've lowered the pitch to the song "Even a Miracle Needs a Hand" and Stan doesn't sound like Randy. Randy's voice is real deep, when Trey does Stan's voice it's more raspy.

Yeah, pretty much sounds like Gerald

I tried to pitch up the voice of Gerald but it didn't really sound like Kyle.
