I hope they do as well - chances are that if it works with the iPad then it'll work with the iPhone/iPod Touch (which I possess :D )

Okay, that's my last one. I've said it before, when it has all of the capabilities of a regular computer, then I might consider getting one.

If it has all the capabilities of a regular computer [and nothing more], why would you want to get one? :P

It's not a full computer. It's an appliance imo. A notebook computer is less expensive and more powerful. Apple is just making a market where none currently exists. And soon everyone will either have an iPad, or the soon to be released competitor's version what will have a camera, USB, phone, etc.

At least the iPad has bluetooth so you can pair a wireless keyboard to it.

But, as with the feminine products of similar name: all of these are disposable. The end user can't on his/her own change the battery. And who would want to? When the battery dies the marketplace will have a far more superior product that 1st gen iPad anyways. So iPad or iFeminine Pad - both are disposable.

As to SP, true, with out Flash you can't stream episodes to the iPad. But you can buy episodes from iTunes to play on the iPad.

This has led to some of the worst commercial failures in history. Apple is just riding high because it has a cult following. Maybe it won't happen on a massive scale, but there will be people who will be asking themselves days, weeks, or months down the road, "Why the hell did I buy this? It's just a big appliance!"

You may not remember, or know about it unless you're a car buff, but this is what happened with Edsel. In 1958, Ford created a car brand to fit between the lower-priced Ford models and the medium-priced Mercuries. They esentially created a market that didn't exist - the low-intermediate-priced field. The cheapest Edsel cost the same as the most-expensive Ford AND the lowest-priced Mercury. Edsel lasted only three model years. Ford learned to avoid creating a market niche for products that shouldn't exist in the first place.

It's simple market saturation. Products are put out there because it's possible to make them. Another example is all the new cereals they churn out almost weekly. Five years ago, you had Frosted Mini-Wheats, but now they come in strawberry, blueberry, maple & brown sugar, cinnamon streusel, and chocolate. It's just asinine. Choices are good, but all this nonsense will just lead people to spend 10 minutes choosing a cereal.

Apple is a closed source company; they decided they don't want Adobe or Adobe Flash. That's why Apple has "preview" instead of Adobe PDF reader, for example.

Will Apple buy Adobe? Put them out of business? I don't know. But what I think is that as appliances such as the iPad gain in popularity (over 1,000,000 units were sold the weekend the iPad was released), and as mobile devices for the most part don't support flash, sites that do run on flash will have to start thinking about moving away from Flash in order for people to view their content on mobile devices. Current devices and future devices that the marketplace will bring us in less than an eye blink will run on HTML 5 and/or H.264. Technology has always moved fast; you bring something new home and it's already out of date before you open the box. This effect is now being accelerated exponentially.

I think the wave of the future is indeed HTLM 5 and H.264. Flash is going to go by the wayside; but sites that are Flash dependent have to decide whether it is worth the price to switch (software and labor to switch perfectly good working flash content to the other platforms) or accept the fact that their content won't be streamed to new mobile devices.

south park actually came out with an app in 2008 that would allow users to watch episodes the same as this website. It was denied by apple. Know why? Because they sell the episodes for $3 each in itunes. f*ck Apple!

How about when Firefox 3.7 or 4.0 and IE9 come out. THEN IE and Firefox users won't be left if the site goes from flash to HTML5 and CSS3 if there's no flash site. (Hey, that's a good idea. HTML5 and CSS3 site alongside with a Flash site, though that would take a long time.)

I started all the way back on an Apple II+, and I've had macs, PCs, you name it. And I'm a software engineer and web developer. Now in addition to my macs and PCs, I have an android device, an iPhone, and an iPad. And I love to watch south park, but I can't on the iPad. So yes, I want people to switch to the STANDARD HTML 5 so that I can watch the new episodes on my iPad. Doesn't matter what people say about what an iPad is or whether it has USB ports or a hair dryer sticking out the side of it. The fact is, millions of people have them, and millions more are going to get them. So please make your site HTML5 compatible!

I prefer the official site. Besides, I already have all 14 season in my iTunes Library so I don't need to. All I'm saying is, it'd be better to have it in HTML5 so I could browse the site easier etc.

I second the I-Pad ready version of the episode player. The I-Pad may not be perfect but it is awesome, I've worked with computers for more than twenty years and I am pretty geeky myself, and I'm not ashamed to confess I love my I-Pad.

As for the feminine hygiene jokes... you guys had too much Vagysil..... you must be braindead right now. :parishilton:

I want my south park on iPad! How can they make an episode about the iPad and it not be viewable on an iPad? Thanks like making fun of watching too much TV as kids but the episode can't be watched on TV!!! Come on.
