Matt Stone and Trey Parker want to show Muhammad. However, if Comedy Central will not allow them, then what do you suggest they do?
If Parker and Stone wouldn't censor it, CC would.

Then, will the episode be "uncensored" on the website? Because, I see an inconsistency in Mohammed being censored in episodes. In episode 503 "Super Best Friends", Mohammed is uncensored to this day. Yet, in episode 1004 "Cartoon Wars II", Mohammed is still censored because "Comedy Central has refused to broadcast an image of Mohammed on their network." Episode 1405 "200" as well has Mohammed censored on this website.

Seeing how the censoring was turned into a joke with Tom Cruise near the end of tonight's episode, might I propose that the censoring itself might be a joke? Regardless of what Comedy Central or Viacom might want censored, may it be Trey and Matt's own wish for the episode to contain the censoring as well for humor?

just watched #201 - very disappointing that somebody wimped out - I don't know if it was comedy central (probably) or Matt & Trey (hope not!) so would like to hear from Matt & Trey before coming to any conclusion, but to be preaching for years about standing up for "free speech", not cowering to terrorist threats, not burying our heads in the sand...seems to me that censoring even saying the word "mohammed" was the act of comedy central...and if it was, they should be ASHAMED of themselves!!!! giving in to one empty-headed loudmouth making threats thru a web site just emboldens him & others to do the same. FBI, Homeland Security, ICE, the whole federal police forces should be investigating this a-hole - and hopefully arresting him! - so that the FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS of Matt & Trey and all of us are protected from this moron & others like him!

That's sooo F'd up. It's all in good fun, it's soo sh*tty that a few select people have to ruin it for everyone. SP can talk about Jesus watching porn and show Buddha snorting coke, it isn't that they're mocking the religions, it's just funny. I just read the blog on their site, this situation is rediculous. Its a damn cartoon. i dont understand why people care so much about what other people say or think. They deffinitely seem passionate about this and I hope at the end of this, Matt and Trey are safe and unharmed.

I keep closed-captioning on full time. Oddly, prior to the first commercial break the word Muhammad appeared in the CC, but for the rest of the show it was displayed as <bleep>

My guess on the matter is that Matt and Trey wanted to show Mohammad. They really, truly did, but Comedy Central wouldn't let them. At least some of the censoring in the episode was a joke in response to Comedy Central. Certainly the long "I learned something today" speech was. We'll see how much is on the uncensored version when it comes on SPS in a few days. I don't think Mohammad will be uncensored on it, because... really, why would you bother to animate something that you know will be censored?

Who is to say that they animated him for the episode in the first place? Maybe they never did.

I cant believe so many people think this was giving in. i thought it was brilliant. the whole 'moral of the story' part was bleeped because they are trying to say that if you don't open things up to ridicule, discussion, parody, social commentary...ect then NO ONE learns anything. we all lose! how great an opportunity that would have been for them to throw something in our face and make us all take a second glance at ourselves, but instead it was all wasted on ridiculous censorship - AS INTENDED!

You know, the ending shows that even the word muhammed being censored goes go show the censoring was a joke. From the T*m C****e being censored to the "I Learned Something Today" it proved they were showing what it would be like if we censored the hell out of everything that might make someone upset.

The pope swearing, jesus looking at porn, and buddah doing coke was showing that they make fun of any other religion but we can't show muhammed because one group of people will get butthurt censoring his name added to the joke.

I thought that they were gonna make fun of muhammed and he'd get uncensored too but i still applaude the episode.
