We really need an SP prequel

Postby BigGuy101 » Thu Oct 27, 2011 12:33 am

Isn't it about time we got a South Park prequel? I know there's Spirit of Chrismas, the genesis for the show. But I wouldn't consider it a prequel. I mean I want to see a real prequel. But don't you guys think there needs to be a prequel?

I don't think SP needs a prequel. I mean what would they do? Have the kids in 2nd grade, kindergarden? Personally I just don't see how they could do a prequel without it ending up like some half-assed crap :P

They've already been in Preschool. What more do you want? Conception?

Well never said you all had to agree with me. I'm just trying to express my opinion. With the show's retroactive continuity, they can come with something. Not saying that they should. Maybe a Chef spinoff (though I don't see how that"s possible).

I wasn't meaning to dump on you personally, sorry if it sounded like that. Its just that I, (and I'm guessing others), can't see how a prequel or a spin-off would make sense and be good. The best they could do, is showing the adults, (Randy, Sharon, etc) being in highschool or as young adults. And maybe showing how they all met. But I don't think it would be very good.

Now that, I want to see.

Seriously though, what exactly are you looking for? How the kids got together? More Preschool goings on? Would it go back to when the parents were kids?

To BRMBug:

Would I like to see how the boys became friends? Hmmm... let me think. Yes. It would be interesting to see. It doesn't need to long. Maybe two episodes long.

It could work. I mean, I wouldn't mind seeing a birth to 3rd grade movie or mini-series, probably not a show though. Although, a show could work, especially with Kenny and the nice Cartman that the kids pick on as he progresses towards the evil Cartman that would feed a kid his parents.

But why? Right now they're doing just fine with the show itself. Why bring in a spin-off now? Shouldn't that be something they consider when the show seems to be losing viewers and looks like it's on its way out.

I mean, I'd watch the spin-off if they made one sure. However, I'm afraid the spin-off would take focus off the original show, and I'd prefer that they keep the original going more than I'd want to see a spin-off. So, if I had to choose between one or the other, I'd want the original. If they could keep both going, then sure, but there is always a chance that a spin-off will take ratings away from the original.

I think it would be cool to see how the boys became friends especially Cartman and Kyle who do have a friendship in a weird way
