South Park 'The Complete 15th Season' on DVD March 27th

Comedy Central and distributor Paramount Home Entertainment have announced DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc releases for South Park - The Complete 15th Season, coming out in both formats on March 27th. Each 3-disc set (308 minutes) will include bonus material such as Deleted Scenes, Behind the Scenes of "City Sushi", and the Featurette "6 Days to Air: The Making of South Park". Both versions are listed as having widescreen video and English subtitles; the DVD includes English 2.0 Stereo sound while the Blu-ray release boasts of English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD and 5.1 Dolby Digital audio. Pricing hasn't been revealed, but going by the last two season sets the DVD version will be $49.99 SRP and the Blu-ray version will be $57.99 SRP. Here's the packaging for both formats.

What? 50 bucks!?! No way, that's gotta be a mistake. These DVD sets are like $40 at most.

Have I gone crazy? I swear to science that they've always retailed for $39.99 when newly released. If this is true, that's a 25% jack. (You sons of bitches, you know I'm going to get it anyway.)

But I'll bet the difference it'll be $40.

Wish I had that money to own it. *sigh* Maybe one day I'll own them on DVD. Does this mean season 16 starts on the 28th?? It's a Wed!!

The cover art is kinda nice. I hate how once again Cartman has to be the center of attention. It's pretty random to put the focus on the episode 1%. It should be around YGO and AB as those were the biggest episodes and most talked about last season. I would have loved to see Stan in his outfit from AB, the black jacket, sunglasses, and drunken face and strewn hat. Not his gym clothes.

So ya, not the best cover but nice nonetheless. Season 14's was a lot cooler!
