Talk about anything South Park
Yes. Mr. Galtman might have recognized them and they couldn't have that happen. They took no chances.
I personally loved it. It showcases South Park Studios's musical talents. I know that Trey writes a lot of the music; there's videos of him on his wife's Instagram playing the piano and guitar. "Put it Down" resulted in the single catchiest song in the show's history. Up until now, "Make Bullying Kill Itself" was my favorite.
Hey kids... ya wanna see my South Park collection?
"What would Brian Boitano Do" will always be my number 1. "Put it down" just made me have this very uncomfortable feeling inside.
A warning should not be given in melody or lyrics. A song alone can’t fix a serious problem. Instead, go face to face with the source of the problem and just tell them to end what’s fueling the problem. Plus, the song made it too dramatic. As soon as I saw it and watched some of it, inside I just shook my head and wished I never listened to it.
I mean these lyrics:
People are dying. The fault is our own.
You can do lots of damage when you're on your phone.
We all have to agree to change it somehow.
Let's all make a pledge to end it right now.
Put it down. Don't be on your phone while being President.
Put it down. You might do something dumb and cause an accident.
Not just because of the fact they’re mixing a political issue with a more community-focused issue, but the fact that the WHOLE TOWN was singing. Just completely overwhelming and disturbing. I felt they were just overdoing it.
Let songs be for relief and matters of joy, love, excitement, and even sadness with the voices of just 2 or 3 people.
I just have very strong opinions on certain things. Please don’t take it the wrong way.
