Cutting The Cable - How do I watch?

Postby JOSHSKORN » Mon Dec 02, 2019 7:27 am

I'm thinking about ditching my cable provider. How will I still be able to watch South Park, as it shows on Comedy Central, unedited, since the online versions are?

I think owning a television is homosexual

Hulu's got 'em the next day? I'm not exactly sure. I do watch eps on Hulu, but not necessarily the new ones right away. I'm pretty sure they are there later that same week.

I'm always using other internet sources to watch first run episodes. I use Hulu as my easy access to old ones, mostly. But I see the new ones on there.

This site is still run by - powered by -Hulu, so Hulu gets it the same night or in the wee hours online. Uncensored versions arrive on Thursday.

Next year, the show will be on HBO Max, so this site will be powered by HBO. Maybe Matt and Trey were onto something six years ago, the year before the Hulu contract, in airing the Black Friday Trilogy, as that spoofed GoT, and now they'll be on the channel that aired that magnum opus. :)

Well then I'm glad I've still got my own copies; DVD's and so forth.

Is this better now? Everyone hated getting buttfucked by the cable company; now they're getting buttfucked by changing streaming services. I'm sure in another few years, it'll move again because Disney swallowed Viacom or Viacom sold part of itself to Netflix or some other bullcrap like that.

You can stream every episode (minus banned ones, of course) them on Hulu. You can also buy them digitally. Iff the top of my head, you can buy them thru Vudu, Amazon, PlayStation Store, Google Play, and iTunes.

You can also buy DVD box sets of each season. But becareful, since they were manufactured by Paramount, they might be defective now as certain DVDs in their catalog from the 2000s were poorly manufactured. Some of my South Park DVDs are suffering from disc rot.

HBO Max launches in February or March. South Park apparently will be there in May. If you have cable with HBO (or AT&T, DirecTV) it should be free if HBO is in your package. Otherwise expect to pay $15 a month to watch HBO Max.

AT&T is jacking up all of their TV rates while they’re at it. I’m caught in the middle of that. I don’t want to pay them $185 a month because they spent too much money on things. So I have a lot of work to do as a result. More stress than I needed.

I have a Comcast package of cable/internet/telephone and I pay like $310.65 a month. I don't even use the cable but my father is sickly addicted to television.

It's a good thing I don't have a TV these days. :)
