Re: Football
Well, it's been made official in Seattle, as USC's Pete Carroll becomes the next head coach for the Seahawks.
Many who remember him and his previous attempts to coach in the pros know he didn't have the best years, but I want to keep two things in mind:
1. I think it was about 15 years ago when he last coached pro.
2. His years with USC probably taught him some new coaching tactics and play ideas that he can perhaps use with the Hawks.
Now, with that said, he still has his work cut out for him. He'll be dealing with a team whose offensive line is non-existent, a defensive line that's inconsistent, and a QB who's been injured too many times lately, and, IMO, should consider retirement; his best seasons are well behind him.

Re: Football
Sorry for the double-post, but I figured I'd ask around about this one.
The stage is set for the two teams that will play Super Bowl XLIV!
The Indianapolis Colts are in for the fourth time in SB history (2nd in the last four years), while this is the first time EVER for the New Orleans Saints.
Who will watch, and who will win?
This is one time where I am stumped. I like both their chances.

Re: Football
Saints got a really good chance of winning if they can eat up a lot of clock with their run game. The best way to beat Payton Manning is to keep him off the field.
Otherwise, this has the makings of a shootout where the last team to score will carry the day.

Okay, who here watched that game? Favorite commercials? Did your team win? You make the spread?
With the number of US viewers that watched it (over 106 million!), I'll bet there were a good number of you here as well!

I saw parts of it. I liked the Denny's screaming chicken ads.

Re: Football
I had the right team, but someone beat me out in the spreads.
There are seven of us in the pools, and only two of us went with the Saints.
My personal favorite ad must have been the Doritos spot with the dog wearing the shock collar, but the Volkswagen ad with Stevie Wonder was a laugh riot as well!
