Random: Have you ever tried eating this kind of fruit before? If not, you're missing out!

We actually wage turf-wars over this kind of fruit at school; it's that delicious. We have this one tree at school (rumored to be the former vice-principal's, the cool dude who actually liked my guts, but was sent off to another school to help them not fail again as a school), and it bears fruit near Spring Break each year.

I'm looking forward to claiming the tree for my boyfriend, my brother, my friends, and me this year. My tree! All mine!!
Goodbye, cruel world...
I'm leaving you today
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye...

Goodbye, all you people
There's nothing you can say
To make me change my mind...
Goodbye...

Eww, calculus. Pre-calc was bad enough for me...

RFAM: I have a strange habit of picking up random phrases and inside jokes at school. The latest...? It'd have to be... "Your Chaconne is showing". It's an inside joke in Orchestra (we're playing this Baroque-era piece by the title of Chaconne in E Minor by Dietrich Buxtehude), a poke at someone when they said exactly that when they meant to say "Your underwear is showing".

Hey! That's an awesome song! Iron Maiden rules!

Seriously though, what is "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner", other than a great Iron Maiden song?

Me neither.

Random: Here's my newly finished oil painting self-portrait!

The photo quality is crap; it looks a lot better in real life. I'd sure love it if you guys bother to take a look and critique it...

The only thing glaring to me is that the ear is way too low down; it shouldn't go below the chin. Also the way the hair is covering it up looks a tad strange to me. Um, and shouldn't there be a bit more head visible (whether it's the skin or a bump shown in the hair indicating otherwise) above the nose?

Not sure, I'm in a rush so I just took a quick look at it, but I think it looks pretty great.

Thanks for the critique...I believe it may have been the pose, though. The teacher wanted something out of the ordinary, so I gave her my interperetation of 'out of the ordinary'...

I have the photo print-out somewhere...we had to do it through tracing off a transparency, so I may have screwed up with the original sketch from the photo, so that could've been a factor in misplacing some of the stuff...

It is very much appreciated, though. Thanks for taking the time to look at it and leave your opinion; people these days don't really have the patience to critique art...

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is a poem that was written during the Romantic period. I've actually started to grow an appreciation for some of that stuff, believe it or not.

Ahh...Ok. That explains the random stops in the song to read poetry...

RFAM: I'm going to buy 3 songs off iTunes today.
"Blood Ocean"
"Hatredy"
and "Murder Train a'Comin"
