PG-13 version? I have to check that out! Mark Hamil's joker is aways the voice i'll hear when i read Batman comics, it's amazing.

Look for the "Original Uncut Version" on DVD. Some scenes are either extended or redone from what they showed on TV.

I don't have much to begin with, but when of the most evil and corrupt corporations in the world takes something from me (I've collected comics since I was 8 and keep them in tighter security than my own SS number), it's like twisting the knife in my back. Can you imagine having a f*cking Hannah Montana ad while reading Daredevil? Do we want Wolverine or Hulk to give their enemies lollipops and gumdrops instead of enacting ruthless and much deserved vengeance on criminals and supervillains? I don't want a kid-friendly Punisher who doesn't kill, a Magneto or Doctor Doom that doesn't strike fear into humanity, or a Captain America who doesn't fight Nazis... knowing Disney, they probably won't even mention the word. IS THERE NO JUSTICE IN THIS WORLD?!?!? And I don't want anyone to tell me to chill out or whatever, as a longtime comic reader, I have a right to be royally pissed.

Oh, it may be MUCH WORSE than that...

Batman: Babies Edition

X-Men: Edited for Toddlers :o

I get scared just thinking about it.

hmm, i never really read any comics, but i must say, i love some of the more obscure, serious batman comics, like 'A Serious House on Serious Earth", i dont really like super heroes, but this one is amazing, its abstract (art wise), twisted, and pretty damn mature, its great.

I will admit DC does have an edge over Marvel graphic novel-wise. Grant Morrison's "Final Crisis" was f*cking amazing on so many levels, I actually got to reading a few more DC titles. Plus, Watchmen was published through DC, and that's the most acclaimed graphic novel ever. Then again, the House of M was absolutely sick, and the Marvel Civil War was a modern-day epic that even brought about the (temporary) death of Captain America. Also good are the "Acts of Vengeance" and "Infinity Crusade" storyline of the 90s. I could go on...

Y'know, now having read Jake's view on the subject, maybe there won't be many differences in the comics. Marvel has too much of a good thing going to have to cut down.

They may end up cranking out more "All Ages" titles as part of the deal, I'll bet. Frankly, I'd love to see the Disney Corp's. faces when they see the MAX titles (Marv's mature line).

And it wouldn't be a first for MC to start putting out Disney titles, either. They had briefly done comics for the classic characters (Mickey, Donald, and others), and I have all the original GARGOYLES issues (eleven in all, and the show was EXCELLENT)! If nothing else, it would rival DC's Cartoon Network titles...proviso they still make more than Scooby-Doo and Looney Tunes comics...

Hiya, Wii, Moose!

@Wii: I guess one can't be too sure until things officially take effect, if you're talking about the little discussion I ended up starting with that article I posted a couple of pages ago.

Course, sh!t may fly if totally handled wrong.

Good point, Jake. Though I think it'll be a while before we have to worry about that, as all the movies they've planned in recent years might already be in the works with what other studios had offered to produce them.

And with any luck, MC will still be able to get additional help through those other studios.

Incidentally, doesn't Disney still have their "other" film labels, like Touchstone? They were known more for putting out more PG-13 and R-rated films, so if that's the case, there might not be as much of a problem as speculated.

Nothing tops Watchmen in the comics department IMHO.
