So there is this new search engine, or not really a search engine but something similar. It is about a month or so new (I think), but it doesn't work like google or yahoo.

It gives information, it calculates formulas, and gives a lot of information.

Has anyone tried it out or heard of it yet?

It's called: wolfram alpha

There, for example, you can:

enter any date (e.g. a birth date)
june 23, 1988

enter any town (e.g. a home town)
new york

enter any two stocks
IBM Apple

enter any calculation
$250 + 15%

enter any math formula
x^2 sin(x)

Watch Overview Video »

It is named after someone called: Stephen Wolfram

Here is some more info on Wolfram Alpha

Let me know in this thread what you think :)

I found it to be interesting.

BC: If your talking about Bing...I didn't like it. It is weird though :o

Rumor has it though that it can become an issue, cause if you type in porn, you can actually see a preview of the section before even clicking to enter the site.... :P

There are too many search engines that just "don't work" so stick with Google or Yahoo! people

Do you all remember the Hamster Dance website?

Well, I made a more "adult" one. :o
(Cartoon nudity, so this is your warning!!!)

It is funny, not really too graphic. It's a GIF image not even 4 seconds long, and it just repeats to a funny song.
I will use tinyurl to hide the url, because it sounds really suggestive, but it is NOT what it seems! :o

Take the name of the site as an innuendo. :)

BC, remember the Deja Vu strip club we talked about? :o

It was raided.

http://cbs13.com/local/stockton.cyber.c ... 58677.html
Investigators hauled computers away from a Stockton strip club
and a neighboring cyber café over allegations of illegal internet gambling.

The Deja Vu Topless Dance Club and the Lucky Deja Vu Internet Café on North West Lane were raided Wednesday afternoon by state authorities in connection with an investigator into internet gambling. Dozens of computers and assorted electronics were seized.

Authorities and store managers were tight-lipped on details surrounding the investigation, but investigators say no arrests have been made.

Internet gambling is illegal in California.

The stations covers 3 cities, because they're so close. (Metro area.)

Sacramento, Stockton, and Modesto.

Ah, memories. Three cities I know well from bowling tournaments :)

Anyway, Wolfram Alpha is not Bing, and it is not google (in functionality). It is different. It actually does things. Anyone try it yet?

I tried it. :)

It's cool, but the formulas take some getting used to.

Yeah, it's strange at first (as all new things are), but it looks like a promising tool to use.
