I hate drama but i had to participate in something to avoid the "she didn't do any voluntary work" sentence in graduation speech night! at least i can get away with wearing pink...
our school colour codes us in the stage crew.
Pink shirt--> cleaners
- clean off mirrors from sweat and fake blood
- sweep floors and broken props
- box hurling (prop packing and stowing)
- coffee cup and popcorn bag disposal (25 cups max one show!)
- and barf checks (liquids and spills check e.g. chemicals) i dunno why we call them barf
black shirt--> onstage furniture removal between scenes
- wear emo clothes and tiptoe everywhere
yellow shirt+green--> audio and lights
- nuff said
- "help" with pink shirt but usually run away after production

Do you just really love pink, or something?
I have to join something to get into a good college. I need two extra-cirricular activities! I kinda want to volunter at the pet shelter, but they won't allow minors, and my friend will not teach me how to play hockey! Give me some ideas!
Maybe I should join Drama club.....

well that was the only way to get free tickets to school productions and do something menial and easy. an easy ticket to the extra curricular stuff.
(pink and black shirts switch roles) and yes. i really like pink....
- debating
- sorting library books
- stage clean up crew if that exists there
- drama production hand (move props in scenes)
- canteen aid

Re: The Randome Thread: Real Conversations Start Here!
I'm in Middle School.....and we don't have that. We have a bunch of clubs. I used to be in Newspaper, but it was so boring and I finished my article and month before I needed to and I was like out of the conversation in all the meetings.
I can't go into Anime Club, because, I'm not really into anime.
Glee Club. Oh, Jesus Christ, no.
Band. I could go into band. But the teacher is a hard ass that makes me feel uncomfortable. His voice. *shivers* Maybe if I learn piano or something...
Chorus. I. Can't. Sing. For. My. Ffucking. Life. Like. Oh. My. God. You don't even know.
Drama Club. I can be stage crew. Since, I don't like to memorize lines. -_-
P.R.I.D.E. I forgot what it stood for. And I think its only for 6th graders. Either that or it got canceled or something.
And I think that's it. The kids at my school are total conformists. I mean Glee Club? What the ffuck?

News paper and stage crew sound like the best options. You might get free production tickets anyway (not that school productions are even that good)

Whoa!
You get fake blood!? What plays do you usually do?
We do fairy tale stories from a different perspective.
Maybe if we do, do Shakespear, our school wouldn't suck so much. *gasp* Brilliant!

Re: The Randome Thread: Real Conversations Start Here!
well each year we have a production, these are the ones i remember. no some kid bought fake blood and convinced teacher to use it. NOT good idea! fake blood is worse than real blood. stain wise...
- macbeth (BLOOOOOD)
- alice in wonderland (glittery mess pissed janitors)
- hamlet (lots of audio issues and angry teachers)
- the crucible (dont cry, kindergarten, she's acting!)
- musical number (lots of falsetto and voice loss)
This year, i dunno, im graduating in a few weeks so i won't be able to see it anyway

....You guys got to do Alice in Wonderland and Hamlet? Holy crap. Compared to those plays, our school does kindergarden stuff. I mean, we aren't aloud to do horror. Me without horror? Please!

Well, I like your choices madam! Wish our school would get a freakin' backbone already.

school activities don't entirely help out in the future anyway.

You get fake blood!?
So do I. *Sprays ketchup on my chest* eww i'm dying. Well i didn't say it was good quality fake.
Anime club sounds like the best out of those even though i don't like anime. If you had to do one i'd pick it, just because it involves doing the least stuff and i'm hella lazy

All my schools have been pretty small. Middle was split into 2 campuses so there were only a couple hundred on each, "highschool" (a-levels) is only 2 years and is optional so had even fewer people and my elementry school only had 10 people in my year. Wasn't until I got to college that something with substantial afterschool activities like the ones you list came on the table. I would usually generalize my experience to the whole UK like an idiot but I know things are very different in more urban areas I'm just lucky to live in the country

I kinda lie. At a-level we had a buisiness club? I did that, but it was the only extra-curricular non-sport we had and the sports aren't that big.
school activities don't entirely help out in the future anyway.
There's a lot of competition for colleges and stuff but grades matter way more, depending on where you're planning on going. Glad we only really had to worry about exams which i'm better at than homework, and got to drop most subjects in 10th-11th grade and even more in 12th-13th. Probably why i liked school

We did have a drama class but that was only for people who chose to do the class it wasn't an extra-curricular thing, and we had paid janitors.
AND BY THE WAY, I WIN
